Hi.
There are lots of used Beolab 3500 awailable. If one would buy one second hand is there something to wach out for? Do the suffer from foamrot?

Do you think it matters if they are over 10 years old?
I'm not sure, I've heard about foam rot on Beolab 6000s but I have some 6000s and a BL3500 and they seem to have rubber roll edges to the drive units. Maybe someone can say for sure if / when these models ever had foam. It would have been about the time that 6000s and 3500 came out when people started getting miffed with B&O speakers and foam rot (even the Pentas suffered). So maybe B&O made the switch to rubber soon after. Having said all that, both these models are quite fragile in appearance so I've never been inclined to hammer either of them, volume wise, as the cones are tiny.
BL6000's and BL3500 have never had foam surrounds.
The surrounds have always been made of a very thin rubber which is inclined to split when it ages.
I agree with Jackplug, 6000's seem fragile for an out and out audio system speaker. They were designed as surround sound speakers to be used with a video system and that is really all they are good for.
The 3500 is an ok kitchen speaker but not really good enough for serious use.
