Saw both the small and large horizon in the flesh in the Copenhagen store today.
I have to say I think it is the nicest looking of all of the current tvs. The design is the most resolved of all the models. Certainly feels premium and not cheap.
The beovision 14 new wood frets were also on display and compared to those the horizon feels just as exclusive and I think a better design. The wood frets are not bad, but they really make sense if you have the wood frett speakers.
From what I could gather the horizon only had two speakers (not three like the larger v1) so the sound won't match the avant or 14.
I think this tv will be a winner. I loved the v1 (and own the of them) but it was never a real b@o tv. The vocabulary was its own thing that just didn't work with anything else being produced.
The horizon user interface seemed ok. It took a second to get into the settings menu, but once there everything fast and fairly elegant. From what I could tell (my Danish not being great) all the audio and picture controls from the old tvs are there.
P
PS.
The mobile cart was on the smaller avant and have to agree not so nice
Sorry I meant smaller horizon
Nice to hear! I am going to copenhagen tomorrow so will try to check it out then. Did you take any pictures?
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
The wheel stand is a wanted-for option from several costumers - and can be very usefull in the right surroundings (peoples habits are different).
But noone have to order that one - focus on what you like and not what you dislike, I'd say.
There are other (2 more to come) placement possibilities.
Please name another tv manufactoer, that offers this!

I don't want to spoil the surprise for everyone,
but if you are as excited as I am about new products,
have a look at these:
Sorry - but no surprice.
These pics have been posted already a week ago.
In the B&O shops (in DK) you can see the Horizon alive and kicking.
Still a question which hasn't been answered yet, does anyone know in the bv14 and the horizon have a new beosystem engine inside it???
Beoplay A2
Not 'new' - but a new version.
In the training video Christian called it version 3.
The audio engine seems to be pretty much the same a in BV11/Avant/V1.

That tv looks awful especially on the hostess trolley. I got a second opinion from my wife and she also wonders what they were thinking with this step backwards., in her words.
Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1
Thanks millemissen.

I saw the 40 inch in flesh yesterday and I share your opinion. Its made of good materials but I can't justify the high purchase price to anyone.
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
The trolley reminds me very much of the old stands I remember from my grandparents' LX and MX-sets...
Can understand the need for wheels, my girlfriend doesn't want to have more than one television in our apartment, yet we sometimes want to have a lazy Netflix Sunday in bed. Combine it with WiSA-speakers and you suddenly have a lot of flexibility! (My only worry would be cable management...)
Also saw a Horizon in a London B&O store this afternoon.....design will definitely appeal to some, its clean, fairly cool, though it didn't speak to me as much as the BV11 or 14, which i love......going back tomorrow for a proper look at the BV11 and 14......need a BV screen for my bedroom.......the sales man in spoke to, who seemed to know his stuff, suggested we may not see an B&O LG OLED screen for quite a while, as B&O need to satisfied that OLED screens can last at least 5 years plus, which isn't the case as yet (his words).........
Anyway, the wood lamellas on the BV14 looked nice, though not as clean as those on the BeoLab 18s (which i have).....looked a bit odd from an angle, fine from head on.....

Definitely none, B&O does justifiy premium price with the Horizon.
Unlike many other feedbacks seen here, I admit I actually am in love with a "trolley" stand. <3 I find it very Bauhaus and uncompromising.
Reminds me of the TV's they used to wheel between classes at School! Not for me, who needs to move their TV that often?
While (almost) everybody here is moaning about the wheel floor stand, I would like to remind you, that the wall mount is very flexible. It lets you (manually) turn the Horizon to both sides to a broad variety of viewing angles.
Personally I am looking very much forward to see the table stand.

Michael: No roof mount?
No roof mount?
Not that I know of!
@Aussie Michael
I like the wheel stand too - but I would not buy it.
It wouldn't fit with how we use a tv.
Roof mount for the Horizon = a job for STBBrackets, I guess.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Nice pics !
What about the black frame : matte aluminium, plastic ?
And the speaker grid : aluminium ?
Can you confirm the prices ?
I like the stand, but i will replace the wheels with small spikes or rubber pads !
Thanks.
Thanks Chris !
I hope i could see it in France soon -:)
Maybe a substitute of my 2010 BV 10-40...
I see it's not as "classy" as the BV 10, but i like this brand new design, more "aggressive", and the new panel in 48" is cool... + the BeoRemote BT -:)
Have also seen it in the flesh... Can't make up my mind concerning the design.
There was normal HD media playing and somehow think that the BV11 next to it had way better displayquality. Picture was not that vivid and flat compared to the BV11. The 48" is very interesting format!
Karel.
The new remote is really nice! Like it better than the Beo4
The Horizon looked better in the flesh, but it is quite thick.
The new android OS looked pretty good and was not too slow to be useful.
But multiroom is not able yet. Will come in an upgrade later
Thanks for the pics Chris.
The cable management on that tea trolley should be better in a shop display? And the speakers are reduced from the V1 set-up in order to shift some additional upgrade from the sound of it. Oh.
I'm in the run for a kitchen TV and have been searching a while for a BV 10. But the ludicrous prices in the second hand market has kept my purse in my pocket. Hopefully the Horizon will make the BV 10 prices more reasonable, otherwise I will go for Horizon.
spent some time today comparing the Horizon and BV14 to the BV11 today myself......mixed feelings on the styling of the Horizon, though i didnt think it looked cheap once the picture was on.....
re picture quality, the Horizon has such a matt / flatter image than either the BV14 / BV11, it was surprising, though i thought it looked classy enough actually.....should appeal to fans of the more natural plasma perhaps.....
when i compared a like for like BBC HD source on the BV14 and BV11, thought the BV14 looked better to my eyes.......did it make the BV11 look bad? not really, but it was a clear difference to me (both units with picture in default mode, i was told)......i was all ready to buy an 11, but will probably go for a 14-55 now....close enough in price, especially without the wood lamella....and no harm in having the 4K........willing to live without HDR given its a bedroom screen........did you play with the Android TV menus etc?......seemed to work fine to me, looked ok, though the dealer hadn't loaded many apps....better than i had feared, definitely......
One thing is for sure!
You immediately notice the absence of the signature "Beovision sound". It is defiantly not there!
But then again it really isn't a Beovision,- it's a Horizon
i didnt spend much time listening to the sound yet, but will go back for a more careful listen.....
assuming the BV14 sound will be better? probably a dumb question....
for whatever i get for my bedroom, BV11/14 or Horizon, i will likely use the A9 in my bedroom to boost the sound.....hoping that combo will sound good..?

Does it offer WISA for additional speakers?

Start by asking yourself,- is another set of stereo speakers going to be placed to the left or to the right side of the stereo speakers in the television?
If you want to upgrade, or widen the "soundscape" get a pair of real Beolabs!
As to the BV11,- it will definitely carry itself when it comes to Beovision sound!
