Hi,
I have a beolink 7000 that was working perfectly in 2 way mode, but suddenly stopped transmitting (no led light seen through phone camera).
I have recapped the remote but I guess this would only fix the receiving part of the circuit. Does anyone have any idea what I might check to get the transmitting part working again?
Cheers
Philip
Check voltage of the backup battery. If that is low, the remote acts funny sometimes.
But... Be aware that for instance iPhone cameras filters infrared light, so you cannot see it with the normal camera. But if you use the FaceTime camera, it will show infrared :)
Test your camera with a good remote to eliminate the camera :)

Thanks for your quick reply.
I have fitted a new back up battery - the old one was completely dead.
It looks promising! The controller is now fully working again. One other thing I noticed that might be connected is that the controller did start working again with the dead battery when it was fully charged. I am now going to test if it continues working as the main battery runs down.
Once again thanks for your help.

I bet it keeps on working with the new battery :)
I have seen a lot of weird behaviour with dead backup batteries on the BL7000, it normally comes back to life with a new one..

Hi weebyx
Do you know a safe way to change the backup battery?
Best regards
David

With anti-static strips, and then a quick solder-off. Don't spend to much time with the solder-iron on the battery taps, the battery cannot handle being to warm.
I have never had a battery explode or anything, but I always wear eye goggles for protection.
The biggest problem is finding a battery that sits flat enough. There is not much space to play around with :)
Hi Weebyx
Thank you very much for your help.
Since last week i have 4 of these backup batteries to change...
Hi David,
Just thought I'd let you know that the backup batteries are available from uk.farnell.com
Part Number: 426345 Varta 3v coin Lithium Manganese Dioxide 280mAh with 24.5mm pcb pins
These batteries on eBay are said to be custom made to easily fit inside the BL7000. The last picture made me to order one just to make sure my remote stays working!
I can actually see my Beolink 7000 transmitting with my naked eye! They must have used some short wavelength, near visible IR LEDs.

Or what you see is light at half the frequency - or a quarter or so.
I have seen it too.

Yes, it is actually possible to see both beolink 1000/5000 and beo4 transmit when it is a bit dark in the room :) I can also see it quite easy :)
Just a quick update - You are right, the controller is still working fine with the new backup battery after running without being charged.
Thanks very much.
