Lots of exciting things happening these days and the new TVs have gotten a lot of talk time on the forum.

But we know two new music systems are coming as well, Beosound 1 & 2. I went passed my local dealer today, and according to him he is getting Beosound 1, the smaler of the two, tomorrow. Ha was supposed to have gotten it today! That was a lot sooner than I expected. If he does I'll take a few pictures tomorrow or the day after, if no one beats me to it. :-) So in the mean time, lets have a round-up on what we know:

Both Beosound 1 and Beosound 2 have the shape of a standing aluminium cone. Tweeters and woofers are pointed up/down and use acoustic lense designs to spread the sound. Beosound 1 have one tweeter pointing upwards and one woofer pointing downwards. I know that Beosound 2 has one more element, making it a three-way system, but not sure how it is placed. Beosound 1 has a built in battery and is intended to be moved around. Beosound 1 is about 30cm tall. Beosound 2 is higher. I don't know how much, but judging from the pictures showing the two together I would guess about 40cm. Both have a play/pause/join button on top, and a physical wheel for controlling volume. As a matter of fact, the top of both looks a lot like the Essence remote placed on top of an acoustic lens. Prices are approx 1400 and 1700 euro, respectively.

Does anyone have more information?

I am very interested in one of these.  I don't intend to move it around and would like to have it always plugged in so I wonder if the 1 would be appropriate.  I also wonder if the Essence remote will work with it, although I can't imagine it wouldn't.  I would love for it to come in multi colors.  I hope we will soon find out!

I wonder if B&O had some input in these?

Saw the new beosound 1 today-very striking and compact. Brushed stainless steel/aluminum finish...a return to the much loved B&O speciality. It packs good volume but one might want to adjust top, middle and bass levels at source as no way of doing this on the beosound itself-only general volume control provided.

When is the official release date?  I am looking forward to seeing them on the B&O website.  Too bad I won't get to see and hear them in person.  I will probably have to find a place that will mail it to me.

The official release is probably next week on the IFA in Berlin.

Hope we can adjust the sound through an app... just like the BeoPlay A1/...

Yep, there it is, on the right! I haven't seen that picture before. Beosound 2 is the taller, with the vertical lines. Got a mail from the same dealer yesterday, saying it had been delayed. I was hoping to see it in the flesh yesterday, but now it seems like it will be early next week. A bit dissapointed, but I suppose it doesn't matter. In all likelihood it will be om the web page as soon as IFA opens anyway.

Okay everyone...  I've just signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and there's a BeoSound 1 on it's way to me for a 'BeoWorld Review' direct from Struer Smile

I can't publish the review until after 1pm CET on 31st August - but as usual it'll be thorough!

Interesting news! Looking forward reading from you! :-)

Now, can you please sign another NDA and they can tell you if they will deliver a REAL music system that can feed Beolab 90 etc., too? Wink

Just listened to the Beosound 1. You will not be disappointed Stick out tongue

Acoustic lens spread a very nice high notes.

The bass is solid.

And so is the "package" Smile Super nice quality feel. Impeccable aluminum body.

Volume control is lovely.

Runs on battery and mains.

Look forward to your review Lee, but I already know I will get one Stick out tongue

Surprised you could tell us that much even. Takes the punch out of the secret kinda.

As part of a multi room setup. Will replace my Beolab 2000 link speaker. That's my last Masterlink product. So the BLC will go as well.

Look up: That's a BeoSound 1, a little bit squashed at the top. The original has a stright line from base to flat top with the gap for the acoustic lens, an aluminium cone, in the base a whoofer, unter the top a gap filled  with the form of an acoustic lens and a suspense for the top, which shows a black circle to swipe between radio stations.

The system has a motion sensor, so you can access it from all directions and make your swipe up and down to scroll the radio stations (tunein) or swipe from left to right or vice versa like turning pages in a book.

You can run it by battery or at the mains. To pick it up, you grap it at the gap and can carry it hooked up to your fingers.

The sound: mono, but filling more the a middle sized room.

You will get it not only in silver, but in other anodized colours too. Remote control by BeoMusic app.

I saw Tunein, Deezer and Spotify.

Not mine, but maybe for others who look for a system for easy but hifi listening.

Why do I get a feeling this thing is going to look like a mini BL9 - or something along the line of the BL14 Sub with an acoustic lens fitted?

Nonetheless, I'm excited to see what's in store, even though I'm not exactly sure how it'll play into my current needs.

Am I understanding you correctly, control without touching it?  A bit of the Beosound 3000 magic where something happens by just the wave of the hand?

The motion sensor is a access motion sensor to tell the beosound where you are standing: right, left, half right, behind...

To change stations you have to give it a sweeping touch. And if I remember correctly, you turn the top to adjust volume.

What purpose does the motion sensor serve? Why does it need to know where you are standing? If you are touching it to swipe left right up down, regardless of where one is standing, in front, back, side, up will still be up, down will still be down, left is still left, right is still right.

Sorry for my confusion and not understanding.

Take it like an open book on a table. You only can access the book from one direction without moving the book to read it without tilting your head. This device does the "movement" itself and you always are standing in front of the "book" no matter from which side you access it.
