Think of it another way......
Apart from a milled ingot of aluminium, and a slice of tree, how much of the BS Moment is not made in SE Asia? Screwing and sticking it together to a method statement is within the capability of most manufacturing nations. It is not as if traditional craftsmanship of certain forms is required?
TWG: In the Video the woman says that the aluminium parts where made in Denmark!? Is that right or is Bang & Olufsen lying to their customers again as they did with the battery life of their Beoplay products?

Actually I would not expect any other comment from you.
Negativity comes before positivity - seems to be your motto.
That aside...
...would you believe it, if I told you, that it is true?
If you had visited the B&O factory in Struer recently, you could have seem a lot of these 'housings' being processed there.
They simply did not find anyone else, who could do, what they needed - neither in China or elsewhere.
These 'housings' (including the top-wheel) are being made in exactly the same way as we are used to from other aluminium B&O products.
(Actually you also might have spotted some of these in the colors, that we have seen on the demo pics).
If you still don't believe me, maybe this will be proof enough?

The lady - behind in the center of the picture - is doing the last cleaning, before the items are going into the (well-known-Struer) anodizing process.
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Does anyone know how these compare to the beoplay a8?
Good to see that the casing is from B&O. When I upgraded my wheels after buying my new Alfa I discovered the originals were marked Made in China . Also, a replacement fog lamp for my wife's Kuga (Escape in USA) was from India. The cars were assembled in Italy and Germany respectively.

anyway, the new beosound 1 (or maybe 2) is about to replace my beolit 15. well done!

If 1.300 EUR is what you call reasonable.
Actually I find it reasonable.
If you consider what has gone into making this audiosystem (including e.g. the construction of the volume wheel), you may find this reasonable.
Just think of what the old/original BeoSound 1 did cost.
You can buy a chair like this:
https://juhlsbolighus.dk/klassikere-til-fast-lav-pris/ch25-stol-hans-j-wegner/
or you can get one from Ikea (or similar).
Both can be used to sit on - you decide whether the Wegner has what you need or if the 'Ikea'-one is 'good enough'
Got mine last week and I’m loving it! Sounds great and delivers space-filling sound even at lower volume. But the app (BEOMUSIC) is poor and still not available for Android. The packaging is poor. Just the Beosound 1 in a plastic bag between two Styropor halfes in a rough carton and the power supply cable. No manual - nothing. Just an URL printed on the box leading to a website that is still poor and leaves some questions unanswered. The A1 packaging is pure luxury compared with this!

Ok so I went to my local b&o store today to have a look. They only had the bel sound 1 as the 2 doesn't arrive until end of oct.
Physically it looks great you can carry it around by placing your finger under the cap at the top. They actually put a groove there for your finger to rest. On the other hand this is also a HORRIBLE design decision as if you aren't careful you put your finger right on the tweeter and apply tons of force on it by lifting it. Really really stupid idea.
It's mono. It takes stereo and mashes it all together. You also cannot pair 2 of them together like you can on almost all their other low to high end devices.
its sounded ok. Nothing outstanding at all. You can for sure tell its downfiring speakers as it never sounded like speakers facing your ears even when you stand next to it at chest level.
A beoplay a6 sat right next to it. Playing the same song on it sounded much much much better on the a6. Like worlds better bass and impact.
At this point the dealer also tells me that the a6 sound much better. He said with the beosound 1 you are paying for the aluminum build as the a6 is just plastic. Wtf?
The craziest part... the a6 is half the price and sounds more than twice as good as the beosound 1.
I think they got a dud on their hands. It's meant to be portable but has no true handle and everything about it screams don't touch me I'm expensive and fragile.
Here is hoping the beosound 2 blows minds as I rather like the look of it.

BeoLab 18's. Beolab 3's. A8. A9. A2. H7.
Severed_Hand_of_Skywalker:if you aren't careful you put your finger right on the tweeter and apply tons of force on it by lifting it.
I never thought about that - an astute observation.
As for the other's comments in this thread about the packaging. All of the "true" B&O packaging I have been familiar with (ie. Avant, BL3, etc.) Are in plain cardboard with styrofoam - no frills, but very secure. I really REALLY love the care with which B&O package their products.
My favorite all-time is the packaging for the BS9000, solid as a rock. with styrofoam upper, lower, side-sandwich pieces, and in-between. Just fantastic.
There's a page in the book The Art of the Impossible showing the care taken with the packaging.
I find it rather difficult to put my finger right on the tweeter. Maybe Skywalkers fingers are much more subtile them mine. So this not really a point for me. That said, the should have put some kind of metallic grill on it, just to make sure...
Just from the Specs of the A6 i would expect that it has more Power than the Beosound 1. Soundwise that would tell me, as bigger the room is, the A6 should sound better (meaning: just louder). But i had the A6 never at home, so i can't compare (and i don't give my judgments on surroundings like shops). I like the sound of the B1 for the use i have been thinking of, but if your going for your livingroom i couldn't recommend it, because there is just not enough power (but i wouldn't A6 also). Probably the B1 for your office and the A6 for bedroom.
Honestly, with speakers of this size, i don't care if they are mono or not, as long as they sound decent. I don't think you could tell if the A6 or similar speakers are mono or not. If i like to have great power and superb stereo i just sit on my sofa and listen to my Piega C3 Ltd.
The problem with the A6 is for me its size (beside the design, wich i really don't like very much). I can place the B1 easily on my office table or in my bathroom and its not taking a lot of space.
I don't where you get your prices, but you pay here (in switzerland) for the A6 still a 1'000 Euro (1'100 if you wand a extra clothing) and 1'300 Euro for the B1. So the difference is not that great and you get a material quality by far superior over the A6. And i think, when you buy B&O your not just looking for the best "price what you get" ratio, then i would buy something else. But then i would buy my furniture at Ikea. But when i comes to prices i'm sometimes astonished by the discussions here.
At the end, i think it is a good addition of the B&O familiy. As is the A6 (but i still don't like the desing :-)
Not touching the tweeter.
Still not touching.
Placement in the bathroom.

Nice and expensive, but it would not fit in my bathroom

You've trained yourself well to be careful of the design flaw. Tell someone who doesn't know about the delicate tweeter to carry it over to you and see how well it goes.
It's been a while coming because my friend and I witnessed the Beosound 1 & 2 demo by David Zapfel at Axpona in Chicago this year, but finally here is our Beosound 1 & 2 review article: https://www.rateyoursound.com/best-wireless-speakers/beosound1-2-review-small-and-loud-wireless-speakers-that-rock
We also interviewed David and some of those videos are posted here: https://www.rateyoursound.com/wireless-home-audio-at-axpona-bang-olufsen-interview
I have a video specifically of the Beosound 1 & 2 demo and will post that as soon as I can get around to it!
Thanks for reading and watching!

Technology is overrated, innovation via making new colours and trade-in campaigns. Interesting approach.
Thats's my BS2 in Infantry Green, colour at daylight is natural.
I liked this more than the Brass one.
You definitely need some voice controlling in that location ;-)))
@Ulrike, great photo! There's so much warmth in that picture.
@carlito we also have the Infantry Green and I personally think it's almost the most neutral out of all of the colours, including the 'untreated' bare aluminium version. It blends, until you see it, and then catch the level of workmanship. Whether you want it to contrast or blend will depend on your general room vibe. Either way, i'm sure you'll love it.
