Hi Everyone

Just bought beomaster 5500 and beolink 1000.

Loudness is on all the time. I tried to  turn the r

eceiver off and on, unplug and reconnect to power.

I also pressed all buttons on the beolink and front panel trying to turn it off.

I can control treble and bass through buolink 1000, but how do i turn the loudness off ?????

Thank you for helping me out.

I seem to recall that if loudness was turned on with an MCP5500 then you will need this remote to turn it off.

Not quite that bad, but you need to have a Beolink 1000 with the RESET button (SHIFT + RESET does the trick).

But if you don't... then you won't.

A Beo4 works as well.

Does it differ from BM4500? Sound >Sound>Sound>Sound>Down from Beolink 1000...

 blah-blah and photographs as needed

When I press sound  I can control treble  bass and balance functions - but not the loudness.

Thank you.

Where are you based? I am sure we could lend you a remote to turn off the loudness. The alternative is to take the 5500 to a dealer and use his Beo4 to switch it off! He will probably give you a cup of coffee at the same time if you smile! Smile

Thanks Peter.

I am in Israel. I will do as you suggested.

Until yesterday i was clueless and didnt know if i can mute the loudness using the remote i have.

Thanks to your help guys,  I understand that Beolink 1000 has its limitations regarding loudness control over the 5500, although tournedos (thank you) has pointed out that a Beolink version having reset button could have done the trick.

Thank you all again for your helpful remarks.

Sorry,  Sound >Sound>Sound>Sound>Sound>VolDown(Loundnes blinking)>Store from Beolink 1000. Works on my BM6500

The 5500 is slightly different in operation to the 6500 and 7000. You can do it with a Beo4 though. Go to an Audio setting, then list to A.SETUP. Then list to LOUDNSS and use the up key and it will switch off. Remember to S.STORE to store the settings. I imagine the dealer will be impressed his nice new remote will work such an antique!
