Just discovered that it is once again possible to edit posts on a Mac. Thanks!

Use Chrome or Firefox instead of Safari.

Why use Chrome or Firefox when works fine with Safari? That was the point of my post. The problem has been fixed and now the edit function works perfectly once again on Macs, with Safari.

Doesn't work for me, everytime I press that More -button (under which the Edit link would be), the "blue beachball" starts turning and it won't go away. The menu won't open and I can't access the Edit function.

I am running OS X 10.11.6 and Safari 9.1.2.

Strange...it is now not working for me again. Yesterday it was working flawlessly and I edited a post several times, including editing the title of a thread I had started.

Never worked for me, either. If I want to make an edit, I have to launch Chrome.

I figured out why I could edit but now can not.  To edit a message one must first click on  "more"  which is when the spinning wheel appears. However, the post I wanted to edit was the first one in a thread, the post which I created the thread with. Looking at that post  "edit" is present with no need to click on "more".  Clicking on "edit" for the first post works perfectly and editing can occur. So it seems that problem is not really with the editing function, but with the "more" menu not allowing access to the editing function.

This workaround was already given several times:

- Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and tick the last box (Show Develop menu).

- A new menu appears next to the Help menu in the menu bar

- Before you want to edit something, do Develop > User Agent > Chrome Mac (or Firefox Mac)

Then Beoworld will work fine until you close the window.

Or, directly open the URL that would be opened by the "Edit" menu item if it actually worked:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/EditPost.aspx?PostID=177275

(Substitute the post ID number with the actual ID of your post, which you can find out f.ex. by hovering over the small gray rectange on the left of the post title)

Yes, this may be silly, but I don't see much chance of the edit function on Safari ever being fixed as long as we are using this forum software. It used to work with this same software, so the change that broke it happened in Safari, not the forum platform.
