Beosound 5 Spotify, internet connection

Wierd problem has arrised. Over a period of a couple of days, my Beosound 5 will not connect to Spotify.

in red text, is says "no internet connection" when Spotify is selected, but it is connected. The Radio part works fine.

anyone ?

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago and also two years ago. I'm afraid in both cases the mother board had to be replaced. In fact I'm expecting my repaired BM5 back today!

It might not be this in your case. But if the Internet connection works for the radio then the red error message is probably erroneous.

Sorry for the bad news. If it is less than three years old then any replacement board should be covered by warranty.

I'm the same symptoms. I do not know whether this is a temporary failure. Is there anyone who tell you how to fix ?

I also have exactly the same problem since a day. My mother board has been replaced already for a lot of money a few years ago, so I hope it's not the same problem. Are there people who found other solutions?

Just spoke with my Bang & Olufsen dealer, and they have the same problem. So maybe it's something to do with Spotify.

Mine has just come back from its repair. Same problem as OP. In settings menu there is a "no" displayed against network connection.

Same here. Had this sympton last weekend for some minutes - red line and "no internet connection".

My first thought was, somebody else in the house was accessing Spotify, but no one did.

After a few minutes Spotify came back and worked properly. I will test it once more tonight.

Can anyone else with the same problem check and see if their network connection is showing as "yes" or "no" ? ( it's in maintenance menu under settings just in case you didn't know).

I have the same problem with Spotify here in the US, and my network connection says "no"...  yet, n.radio works fine and I can access the BM5 via my computer.  Good news:  I don't think all of our main boards just faulted.  Bad news:  It doesn't work and will B&O still support?  Personally, I blame Microsoft! Devil

My software versions are:

BS5/BM5 Application: 7.04.01.1945

BS5 Main firmware: 1.38a

BS5 Boot firmware: 0.04a

...

BM5 ML Firmware: 2.36

BM5 ML PCB: 4

BM5 MB Bios: 1.15

...

BM5 OS Image: 5.00

BM5 OS Update: 7.03

Last N.Radio Update: 2016-08-21

My dealer sent a service report to B&O who said "Spotify have introduced a new feature, go on Spotify on a laptop and delete favourites". This makes no sense to me.

It definitely makes no sense.  I rarely use Spotify from my computer, but I cannot find any "favourites" (or favorites Smile ).  I deleted my "starred items", and that didn't seem to do anything.

did anyone searched at Spotify, if it still supports Windows XP.

maybe they don't accept connections from XP.

I think you are right about Windows, if I go into the service menu, internet explorer cannot go online..

Just checked my Beosound 5. Same problem. I have been thinking about canceling Spotify as Deezer Elite sounds so much better. But I liked the functionality of Spotify on the Beosound 5. This makes the decision for me...time to cancel Spotify.

Good find Razlaw. I say let's wait and see. I've already started wondering whether to add an essence to my BS5 or whether to switch to a moment. Hopefully neither will be necessary.

I have an Essence also.  But sometimes the Beosound 5 is just more enjoyable to use. Turning the wheels and having the cover art displayed on it and enjoying the product along with the music.

I contacted Spotify support and received a quick reply asking for more details. I have sent them further details, as well as pictures of what the Beosound 5 is displaying. I also sent them a link to this thread so they could see that my problem is not an isolated single Beosound 5 problem.

It appears that the issue is related to new playlists created within Spotify. Just awaiting a reply from the back office support in Struer.

Hello,

I am having the same issue as mentioned by OP. A few days ago it started. It says 'No internet connection' in red text when trying to open Spotify. Also, it states 'NO' at 'Network connection'. You can tell there is actually an internet connection, because when trying to search for updates, it says there are no updates available, but when trying to search for updates without the network cable connected, it says that there is no connectivity. I didn't try to delete all my playlists in Spotify, yet. I have a lot! Also, about a week ago, the loading of the playlists started to take up more time then usual (couple of minutes, instead of a few seconds).

I hope they find a solution for this Spotify problem.

Spotify support sent me some test log in credentials to try. The same error problem occurred with the log in Spotify asked me to try.

It is working again, connection is saying "yes", and Spotify is running. Playlist is loading slow, but working !!!
