hi,
i have read every thread concerning this issue and didn't find the solution.
in the connection menu, I have set the thing like this :
v.tape NONE
av DVD
decoder NONE
I plugged an old sat decoder into the av scart and a digital audio cable from another audio source into the spdif 1. I tried also the spdif 2.
when I press dvd on the beo4 I have the screen of the sat decoder but no sound coming from the speakers plugged into the beosystem 2.
i have used the rgb sound input and eberything works perfectly when I select CAMCORD on the beo4.
in the menu connection I don't have another audio option.

The SPDIF Input might need a certain format. Try to change digital audio settings in your source (PCM/Bitstream, Dolby Digital etc.).
SPDIF 1 is the right Connection (taken from the Manual):
SPDIF 1
Digital input socket for connection of, for example, a DVD player. SPDIF 1 is for digital input from equipment connected to the AV socket on BeoSystem 2.

Hi
thank you for your answer. I just sent audio source from internet, just simple stereo. I tried the spdif cable plugged into my beolab 5 coming from a raspberry pi with a hifi digi + soundcard, no sound at all.
That's already done Ralph with a computer. I have no more idea.
Someone on beoworld said that the spdif input reacts only to a dolby digital or dts source. I am going to check several files.
Im having the same issues getting sound to work. Anyone know how to work the beosystem 2?

Correct. Software 2.2 and 2.3 supports DD and DTS
Older Avant's with software 1.9 support DD and PCM stereo. No DTS
