ARCHIVED FORUM -- March 2012 to February 2022READ ONLY FORUM
This is the second Archived Forum which was active between 1st March 2012 and 23rd February 2022
Hello everyone,
I saw that in this forum there are various national forums (Dutch, German, French, North American, etc.) but not an italian one.
Why can not create it?
I would setup an Italian Forum if there was enough demand meaning at least five (5) members who would use it regularly.
Regards Keith....
I'm in !!
OK Keith, Tanks for the answer. You will see, the demand will come soon!
grande! e siamo in due. Gli altri arriveranno presto!
Ciao, con te siamo già in tre. Altri due e ci siamo!
they will come; just wait some days....
Hello Keith,
as you would have seen, we already reached the number of seven people asking to create the italian forum.
please proceed.
thank you for your cooperation

paolomariano:Not enough people...
I think an Italian language forum is a good idea. There are probably a lot of Italian speakers who happen to own Bang and Olufsen products. These individuals may like to join Beoworld but are not fluent enough in English. Start out with five members and see what happens.
I don't speak Italian but I do read the French forum. However I don't feel confident enough in French to post something. I think it would be more welcoming to have an Italian forum. Its worth a try.
BeoBoy68:I support our Italian friends It would be nice to create their forum
Here i am !
Eccomi !
Hello there,
we already reached the minimum number of people to create the Italian forum. Now it's up to Keith....
You are right, a lot of people are not fluent enough in english, above all when they have to post some technical issues.
thank you, Beoboy68
what about the italian forum?
Would you say they are all reasonably active Beoworlders that would be using the italian forum section regularly?
Martin
We previously had an Italian Forum, which was rarely used. We chopped it - and nobody missed it....
We can create another, but if it doesn't get used enough - it will get pulled, again.
Can the handful of intended users of the forum guarantee they will visit, and post, frequently? That's the question.
Lee
** And I don't mean a handful of users basically using it as a chat-room posting thousands of posts with rather thin content, as our Spanish Forum seemed to become - then disappeared via mutiny, then re-appeared in another guise, and is now as active as a hibernating hedgehog. This helps nobody.
+1
I would like to have a forum to speak in Italian....
Keith wrote right here that, once reached the minimum number or request (5), forum should be created, but facts are not following the words.....
Hello Keith, we have far exceeded the number of five requests, but the Italian Forum still does not exixsts.....
Keith has a job, and has also been on holiday, so it's quite possible he's had other things to worry about....
Can someone please give me a 12-15 word sentence in Italian, basically saying "this forum is for Italian speaking members who own Bang & Olufsen products and would like to talk about them in Italian" or something similar. I do NOT want a direct translation of that sentence, merely something which would be welcoming in Italian.
After that, we will create the forum and see how it goes.
Merci beacoup!
I think so
totally agree!
why not?
Io ci sono!!!!
As nobody seemed to have read my post - I'll try again...
Thank You
I think if there is enthusiasm for an Italian Forum to be reborn, then by all means. However there do need to be criteria for it staying open. We have closed down forums that are not used as it can just confuse posters and it also requires at least one Italian speaking member to take charge. The original Beoworld forum was a success because we made sure than no query was unanswered for more than 24 hours. We did not always know the answer but we always replied. We went from nothing to the vibrant forum we have today and one that B&O frequent and use themselves. The problem you will have is again, not knowing the answers and not having the depth of knowledge that exists in the moderating team. In addition, you have a far more difficult time than I had when we started as we had no software to worry about and connectivity usually involved a wire. I still have a huge ring binder of spider charts for the product configuration guide! So remember, some of you will need to work at this but I really hope you succeed. Set a realistic target for the number of posts a week at which the forum can be deemed viable after a year - I suggest you look at the other language forums for a target.
The first criteria would appear to be providing Lee with the answer to his question above!

Your Forum has been created.
Please use it - and use it regularly, and well.
As has been mentioned before, we used to have a Spanish Forum which basically doubled up as a 'chat room' for a handful of people. They posted huge amounts - but quantity was way ahead of quality.
Let's see how this goes. Help each other, inform each other - and share your enthusiasm. We've given you the chance you've asked for!
