Hello,

I have a BeoCom2 MK1 and I am looking at purchasing another if I can find one. My question is if I purchased a handset from the UK will it work in Australia? Is our frequency different compared to the UK? I am having trouble finding a Beocom2 MK1 anywhere here in Australia to purchase in good condition. I have noticed that many phones on sale in the UK specify they are 2.4ghz. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Tania

Hello, I still need to know if the beocom2 mk1 phones

from Europe/UK would work here in Melbourne

Australia before I decide on a purchase.

Thank you

2.4ghz is the frequency that the handset could communicates with the base on.

Look at your base what it says. I'm pretty sure they are the same Smile

It's worth having a read of this and checking (not sure how?) that your Beocom 2 Mk1 base can accept a second handset: https://www.beoworld.org/faq_view.asp?id=74

Others may be able to advise ...

Wanting to establish if I bought a beocom2

The Beocom 2 is a 'DECT' cordless phone, and the first line of the second paragraph here would suggest that a UK phone will be fine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Enhanced_Cordless_Telecommunications

Thank you Guy, I have had a read and from my understanding it appears that being a DECT phone would work here

in Australia if I purchased  a handset from the UK. I might have to take my chances and buy a reconditioned handset..😞

Hopefully it will work otherwise it will be an expensive mistake for me.

Thank you again for your help.
