I have a MCP5500. It only works with the BM5500/6500/7000.

I also have a Beolink 1000 with some keys not working caused by the motherboard being partly broken.

I am wondering if it would be possible to take the ir-sender from the Beolink 1000 and mount it in the MCL5500? Would that make it possible to use with my Playmaker or Beosound 3000?

So I guess my real question is:

Is the ir-frequency determined by the "it-bulb", or by some kind of electronic board/circuit?

The MCP5500 works on the same IR frequency as the Beolink 1000 and Beo4. Someone on here recently commented that their mcp5500 controlled the volume on their moment.
