Which Beovox loudspeakers for Beomaster 8000?

Hello :-)

I recently bought a Beogram 8002 and a Beomaster 8000.

I am now searching for the perfect speakers for the best old fashion sound.

I have listened to Beovox M100 and Beovox MS 150-2.

Now I am considering Beovox M75 and Beovox 5700.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

You won't get better than the Beovox MS-150s or the M100s. Arguably the best passive speakers B&O ever produced.

I have my Beomaster 8000 connected to a pair of Beovox Pentas and they sound wonderful but I would prefer a pair of MS150s if they weren't so big.

Do you know the Beovox 5700? The salesman (?) tells me, that they er very good. Maybe even better than the M100 and the MS-150. 

Unfortunately I don't.

Although I'd be very surprised if they are better than the m100s. Older speakers are rarely better than the ones that followed.

The MS150s were designed to pair with the BM8000 so I don't think you'll find a better match.

I have a rebuilt pair of 5700's I ran with my BM8000 for a little while. I felt like I was always trying to adjust the Beomaster filters and bass/treble levels to get it to sound 'balanced' with the 5700 (I guess that's how to describe it) the BM 4000 really is the best mate so far in my experiences for the 5700s.

The closest I've been to happy was with some RL140s or a pair of Peachtree D4s. The 8000 is currently put away until I find some MS's.

I had 5700's years ago and was pleased with them, however the Beovox Penta's sound much better, although any set of Penta's unless refurbished will need more work to restore than 5700's.

Personally on this journey of trying different B&O systems, the Penta's are still my favourites - just swapped out my BL8000 back for the Penta and the difference is amazing, that said I prefer the look of the MS' but have never heard them

 

The big passives have more detailed bass than the Pentas which have to rely on multiple small drivers - I do like the mid-range of Pentas though. I ran my 8000 through both MS150s and M100s. I preferred the M100 though the MS150s were excellent.
