I just picked up a decent condition set of B&O Hojttaler Type S speakers. They have the original woofer/tweeters and crossover. One of the woofers has the surround that is deteriorating.
Does anyone know any information about these speakers?
Thanks!
Yes, lots of people have information about the Type S speakers. What information have you found yourself and what would you like to know?

Thanks! Yes. I have heard that they are pretty rare. One of the woofers has the surround quite deteriorated. Will a regular replacement surround fit?
Also, I am using a small ss amp (18 wpc). It's this to much power? Any advantage to using tubes with them? They seem very efficient.
The 3.2 Ohms impedance was to suit valve amplifiers but if your amplifier will accept this slightly low impedance load and youkeep the volume at a level where the sound is clean and undistorted, it'll be fine.I suppose you could say that they are rare. It was a fairly popular speaker but it's probably notthat common today, particularly in good condition and I'm not sure how many got exported. Not a lot would be my guess.
The woofer is most likely a Peerless E8250. I don't think I ever saw one with rotting surround. Can we see a photo?
Here is the woofer:
I have a feeling the pics are not coming through
It is indeed a Peerless E8250. I just cannot get the pics to post.
