I recall that there are some strange toggling rules for sources on some BeoVisions, but I can't remember what they are.
I've connected a cable source (no cable box) to the Antenna A coax input on a BeoSystem 1 connected to a BeoVision 4 (no DVI). I connected an Apple TV 3 via HDfury, a scaler, and Zektor component video switch to the V.AUX input of the BeoSystem 1. There is an IR splitter connected to the CONTROL of the V.AUX to control both the Apple TV and the Zektor switch. All devices are registered in External Sources in the menu.
The only way that I can obtain V.AUX is by pressing the TV button on the Beo4 to toggle between TV (the cable TV source) and V.AUX (the Apple TV source).Control of the Apple TV and the Zektor switch work fine.
Now this is when it gets weird: when I select V.AUX from the Beo4 (instead of toggling sources using the "TV button), The source does not switch to V.AUX on the BeoVision 4. Rather, the screen goes blank. No sound. When I press MENU, the screen says "TV SETUP" and everything in the menu is greyed out and unaccessible except for "Sound" and "Timer Play." I have to turn the BeoVision to standby and restart it to get normal operation and to get a menu that does not have lines greyed out. Does anyone know what is happening?
Could it be that pressing V.AUX on the Beo4 switches to the PC input on the BeoVision 4? It's strange that pressing TV on the Beo4 toggles to V.AUX and gives shows the Apple TV video signal. Whereas, pressing V.AUX on the Beo4 does not.
