Classic Beograd 4000 has no tension on the tuning slider, having removed the cover I can see the twine and two plastic prongs but can see how the prongs attach to the twine?

Any assistance would be appreciated

Welcome to Beoworld !

Zig-zag the dial string between the prongs and place a drop of glue to keep it there.

Oh, - and Beograd is a city.

Damn autocorrect, thanks for the reply, anyone have a picture of how it is supposed to be fitted/secured. I have searched  google images without success

Here a pic of mine, 1 prong was broken, so I just glued the the string to the last one, Find a station with known MHz, adjust the scale to same, put the string over one prong (tap) and under the other then put a drop of glue on it use epoxy or an all round glue. here a link to my BM 4000 restoration.

Thanks Martin. Managed to scissor the twine between the two prongs and it works fine.
