HI Guys,
I'm hoping for some advice on connecting auxiliary devices to my BC6-26 before I start changing all the cabling around (I'm one of those super-tidy people that runs all the cables in a nice neat but difficult to alter cable sock!).
I currently have a BC6-26 (fitted with a now unused DVB module as I no longer live in a Freeview area) and the following devices connected:
Humax Foxsat HDR connected to AUX1 by Scart and assigned as STB(V-AUX) for PUC control
Sony HDR870 DVD/HDR recorder connected to AUX2 by Scart and assigned to DVD (currently only use this as a playback device as I have no terrestrial service)
Apple Airport Express connected to AUX3 (audio only) and assigned to PC
This seemed a sensible arrangement when I put it in and all works OK. However, I was not aware then how difficult it is to archive off from the Humax hard drive (file formats and size limits).
I think if I connect the Sony HDR between the Humax and TV I could record the Humax RGB ouptut but that would mean connecting both boxes to the AUX1 connection. Does anyone have any idea if the two boxes would operate OK together on the same AUX socket? Would there be any loss of image/sound quality or likely operating conflicts?
Or maybe there's a better way to set up so I can record the from the Humax box without taking a course in video file formats and Unix!
I use the FOXSAT HDR and have installed Raydon's software on it from the following link:

If your FOXSAT is then connected to your network you can archive recordings on any computer or NAS. This software has the added advantage of enabling your FOXSAT to act as a media server, streaming any recordings to any other (client) device.

Have come across this software before but seems very complicated. Do you know if it works OK with a Mac?
It's very easy to load so I would give it a go. I have never used a mac, so wouldn't know how well it works, but the software just makes the FOXSAT into a media server - you can also then view it and control it using any browser as far as I am aware.
If you don't like the outcome you can always download the official Humax software from their site and reload so that it reverts to normal.
