How is everyone coping with the snow? We have had a good few inches here, but its starting to thaw! Does everyone think they may have to skip work tomorrow??
-5 as we speak, but we had a night with -18... There was a big traffic jam in almost the entire country on Friday. Definitely not skipping work tomorrow. There's so much to do and deadlines as well.

I'm retired so I can sit and watch the snow from indoors. It's the best place!

Haven't left the house either, but will go soon to do some shopping. Somehow the 380 volts electrical system in my apartment building broke down on Thursday and on Sunday again. That means no elevator and worse, no heater or hot water. Thank god it's pretty well insulated. It's working again, at least for the moment. Have lost some faith in the system, obviously...
I have just potted about today but have defrosted the cars, also lit the log burner in the summer ( winter) house! Its been nice to see people playing about in the snow today!!
Snow? What is that?

New smilies!
Snow, that's the white stuff which slows down all the traffic in front of me :-)
Just got back in time from some ice-skating to join this forum. So, it has it advantages though.

Just got back from a 140km cycle, no sign of the white stuff here. It was a balmy 1.2c at 7am rising to a sweltering 5.8c as I got home.

The snow situation isn't too bad here, but on the other hand we know how to cope with it over here...

Not here in Holland.
As mentioned earlier by Beocool, last friday was our first day with snow.
Almost the whole country was 1 giant trafficjam and the trains (as always) didn't drive as well.
Here, the people are stimulated to take the train instead of joining the morning jam. But if they do, they end up on waiting on stations without trains coming.
So frustating for those.

I can imagine, but we always get snow, so we are well prepared and accustomed.
bayerische: What IKLOO? You on the bottle again?
Rhetorical question...
I put "igloo" in Angela for Finnish, and she returned: "ikloo"

Is Angela a prononciation engine or? I'm clueless.
If you mean Igloo was to be pronounced Ikloo in Finnish, then yes that would probably be true, but you must remember I speak Swedish, thus I would pronounce it Igloo.
