Hi,

I need to compliment my home theatre with a couple of new rear speakers. My front speakers are Beolab 8000 and I would like to have B&O speakers in the rear as well, but unfortunately the room makes it visually difficult to place any of the B&O speaker products. I am therefore looking for the best flat ceiling mounted speakers out there (in your opinion) that will sound good with my Beolabs, any ideas?

I have been looking at these: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/speakers/stereo_speakers/791_speakers/index.jsp

any good?

All answers appreciated!

Hello,

why don´t you use BeoVox 1 or BeoVox 2?

I have Beovox 1 - I wouldn't get them again - they are not as clear in my experience as CX50s. Your B&O dealer can probably suggest some alternatives. Mine did and I should have listened!

I am going to be honest with you guys, did not know B&O had built in speaker alternatives. Have to do my homework better the next time:)

I love the Beovox 2 speakers! they would fit perfectly(!) anyone know about the sound in these? I see the Beovox 1 didnt work out for Peter... are Beovox 2 better? Do they work well as rear speakers in a home theatre system?

Right! Wink

If you have 8000's in the front, you need active speakers in the rear..

if you have 8000s front you dont need active rear,as most of the info is through the front 3 channels,as long as they have the same sound signature.

You could quite easily use a beolink passive with any ceiling mounted speakers, kef, linn diskreet, sekrit, canton etc the choice and budget is yours.

I am very happy with a pair of ceiling mounted speakercraft.com, where their tweeters can be pivoted so the sound can be 'aimed' in right direction

I've had success with Sonance speakers too. They seem to be a good match sonically for the other speakers in my Beosystem.

Thanks for all the advice! I think I will get a pair of Beovox 2 speakers as part of my home theatre system. But if the sonance speakers are as good as people here say I will put them in the rest of my apartment. Which of the models can you recommend (http://www.sonance.com/products/speakers#15,2), and what should I expect to pay for each speaker?

Beonic, remember that you will need a beolink passive for using the beovox speakers as they are passive and as I can understand your driver only allows you active speakers!

regards, Adrian
