Hi.

For any members living in the far south west of England, B&O are back in Truro,Cornwall having closed down about 5 years ago in the city. I was inTruro on Saturday last and came across the shop quite by accident. I had no idea they were back in the area. They are part of a high end audio/visual retailer called Senso. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go inside but plan to return again soon to Truro for that sole purpose. ( about 40 min drive for me).

With so many dealers closing down lately it's good to hear of a new one opening, and being part of a business that isn't relying solely on sales from B&O hopefully Senso will be around for some time.

Graeme.

I purchased my first serious B&O from Terry Bird as it was then back in the early 90's.

BS Century, then a little later

MX7000 / BS3000 / BL6000

What a nightmare I think it was at the time. I think Terry wanted all payments in cash and didn't believe in credit cards or similar.

Well good luck with the new shop. I'm glad there is money in the area to support it. Truro took a turn for the worst a few years ago and hope it is on the mend.

I never had much dealings with Terry Bird either, save for getting a Beo4 repaired there once. This was in the mid 2000's. I found them quite helpful and interested in showing me around the shop without any pressure to buy. I guess times change, certainly the economic climate wasn't looking well for any B&O dealer of recent times, and being in a remote spot like Truro, well that's history now.

I'm certainly glad the B&O logo has reappeared in Cornwall and I wish the new business well. As for Truro itself, I hadn't been there for some time but I found it quite 'alive' with shops and cafe's etc and I only wish I could have spent more time there.  ( at the risk of showing my age I was going to a Level 42 concert in the Hall for Cornwall, fantastic gig!!)

I shall return soon and call in to the store for a good look around.

Graeme.

Meanwhile , in other related news, the flagship store in London has reverted to a Barclays Bank. Surrounded by Crossrail building sites, I'm not surprised.

Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1
