Does it work? Is it DVD or VHS?

The remote will always be worth saving or selling.  I presume it is a Beo4.

The Avant was one of B&O's best TVs. Worth saving if the tube is still OK.

I sold mine and my mum's for £25 each without Beo 4 remotes some years ago now so as much as I'd like to disagree, the truth is that they are well and truly superseded by better technologies rendering them fit for collectors and enthusiasts only. The remote is worth more than the TV and should be sold separately or kept for operating other B&O equipment.

Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I've just stripped one 32" VHS (2000) for spare parts.

The rest is going to the recyclebin...

before you go to the dump - you mention you have speakers - if you mean separate Beolab ones (rather than those build into the tv) then these are of course still very much in demand.

Beocenter 8500 / Beolab 4000 / Beosystem 5500 / Beolab 8000 / Beogram 2000 / Beosound 8 / Beovision 6-26 / Beovision MX4000 / Beomaster 1900-1 / Beovox CX50 / Beoplay H4 / Beoplay A1 / Beocom 1401 x2

Hi dougjay,

Welcome to the forum! Yes, as Scott mentioned, separate Beolab speakers are worth keeping or selling.  If you know the model number of your speakers (usually printed on a paper stock near to the socket panel) then we can help you get an idea of value or advise on how to use them with your new TV/music system.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Use my Avant DVD most days - wonderful TV and one of the best sounding TVs ever made.
