Hi all,

I have a Beogram 9000 and two of my transport keys are "stuck". By "stuck", I mean I can screw them and they will tighten into transport mode but will not go wobbly and loose like they are supposed to. One of them does. This means that one corner of the platter is a few mm higher than the other, and I'm pretty sure this is what is causing the inner-groove distortion I've been experiencing.

How do I "un-stick" these screws? I can't unscrew them from under the platter as the screws are on the bottom of the unit. Thanks!

You will have to open the deck and have a look inside to see WhatsGoingOn. Laughing

Haha nice! It's named after the Marvin Gaye album, actually Embarrassed

I did look inside and couldn't see anything that could have been blocking it... Any ideas?

Of course you can.  Have one side held up by the edge of a table and hold the other side up with your hand.  With your other hand loosen the screws from the exposed bottom.   It takes a lot of loosening before they go wobbly - I don't think you loosened enough.

The "nuts" inside can break from their holders.
It can result in the above symptoms.

Thanks, funnily enough when I checked today it was wobbly. I may try and make it more so, but I'm not sure if that's what's causing the platter to be uneven. The platter sits about 2-3mm higher on the side which has the stiff screw. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

OK, do you know of any ways to fix this? Thanks!
