In my Setup i have the Beosound 9000 as Audio Master in Option 2 and my Beosound 5 is in NO Audiometer mode connected to Masterlink. On my Beosound 5 i have an USB Behringer UCA222 SoundCard with Airport Express connected for AirPlay.
If I press A.Aux on Beo4 the A.Aux port of my Beosound 9000 will start.
Normally if i press N.MUSIC + GO + 1 Spotify will start and if i press N.MUSIC + GO + 2 A.AUX on my BS5 via USB will start.

N.MUSIC + GO + 1 Spotify works and N.MUSIC + GO + 2 don't work.
I testest in my Kitchen with Beolab 3500 latest Firmware 3.34.
What is wrong?

I have no comparison. I thought the sound must be good because the Behringer is a good external USB Soundcard. It is also recommended in the B&O Idea Catalogue.

I can test it. But the N.MUSIC + GO + 2 must normally work. But in my setup the BS5 don't react.
I had a similar setup for awhile. Essence connected to the Beosound 5 with a Behringer and a Beosound 3000 connected by Masterlink. Sound quality should be fine with the Behringer.
I have changed my setup a bit and do not have time to look at this morning. But I will look at later today and see how I had it set and how it worked.

Reread your post...you might try setting the Beosound 5 as the Audio Master.
Are there speakers connected to either the 5 or 9000?
I have testet it in two Versions:
1) Beosound 5 Audiomaster Option 2 with Speakers and Beosound 9000 not connected.
2) Beosound 5 Audiomaster=Off and Beosound 9000 Audiomaster Option 2 with speakers
In both of the setups the function N.MUSIC + GO + 2 doesn't worked. But N.MUSIC + GO + 1 worked with spotify. Do you have any suggestions? How can i change my setup?
In my system, with the Beosound 5 set as audio master.. CD activates the CD player in the Beosound 3000, the A Mem./ A Tape activates Spotify.by assigning that button to it. N. Music activates music stored on the Beomaster 5, N. Radio activates N. Radio, and A. Aux would activate the input with the Behringer I believe. I do not currently have the Behringer connected so can not test for sure, but that is what I remember.
When I was using the Behringer with the Beosound 5, I did not have the Beosound 3000 connected. The system did not work well with the Beosound 5 set as audio master and the Beosound 3000 set as audio slave. It was my understanding that I needed to set my Beosound 3000 to audio option 6. However, my Beosound 3000 is too old and does not have options 5 and 6. You might try options 5 and 6 on your Beosound 9000 and see if one of those might work, if your Beosound 9000 has those options available.
At present I have the Beosound 3000 set as audio master and the Beosound 5set as audio master "no." CD starts the CD player, A. Aux activates the aux in of the Beosound 3000. N. Radio activates N. Radio on the Beosound 5, N. Music activates music stored on the Beomaster 5, However, I am not able to activate Spotify with the Beo 4.
Tried a different Beo 4, one with the navigation button as opposed to an older one, the GO 1 sequence does work to activate Spotify.
My Beosound 9000 MK2 has the Software 2.3 and so there is no option 5 or 6. The only way to connect BS5 and BS9000 is to setup BS5 to no audiomaster and the BS9000 in Option 2. But then there is noch reaction on N.MUSIC GO 2 for A.AUX on BS5 with Behringer.
If i connect only the Beosound 5 as Master with speakers connected without the BS9000 the N.MUSIC + GO + 1 and N.MUSIC + GO + 2 command doesn't work.
Only if i setup BS5 as Audiomaster = Off and the BS9000 set to option 2 the command N.MUSIC + GO + 1 starts spotify, but why N.MUSIC + GO + 2 doesn't work?
If i look at this at B&O Help everything must work:
But somewhere is a problem i can't identify.
I don't know what the problem is...sorry. Hopefully somebody else here will be able to help you.
Have you tried audio option o and 1 for the Beosound 9000?

In version 1) above you wouldn't use the N.MUSIC + GO + number combination as that is only for when the BS5 is AudioMaster=off - instead you would simply select A.AUX / A.MEM on the remote.
Are you able to select the aux (behringer) input directly on the BeoSound 5 (ie without using the remote) in either of these scenarios? I just want to ensure that your behringer device is actually working and being recognised by the BS5. There was an issue (last year if I recall correctly) when behringer changed the USB ID of their device but there was a software update for the BM5/BS5 that resolved the issue. If you have a newish behringer device you will want to check that your BS5 is running the latest software - this should happen automatically though as long as it is connected to the internet and software updates haven't been turned off.
The N.MUSIC GO 2 functionality certainly worked on my BS5, although that was a slightly different setup as it included both a BS9000mk3 (in Opt 0) and a BV7-40mk3 (in Opt 2). My entire system has been packed away for some time so I don't know if there have been any subsequent changes / updates that might have broken this functionality.
Martin.
I'm able to select the Behringer directly on the Beosound 5 as A.AUX. It works without any problems in the Audiomaster = Off Mode of BS5 and BS9000 in option 2.
But if i press N.MUSIC + GO + 2 the Display of BS5 shows PAUSE with an blank B&O CD Cover and shows unknown Artist / unknown Title.
Did you find a solution for this ?
I have the same problem...connected a chromecast audio for using it with Spotify connect, the only way to get it triggered is on the BS5 itself but not with remote ...

Hi, IF you press on Beo4 n.music+go+4 then you get À.AUX direct in BS5. I just found out!

Hi nico, you have chromecast audio with Behringer converter. Is soundquality good with SPOTIFY connect IF you compare with the inbuilt client in Bs5?

Great that you found this out! But I wonder if this procedure is the "easy and comfortable to use" way Bang & Olufsen claims for their products...
Hi, I have also a Beolink Gateway. I have "found" a button that I can use for this which is "A.AUX playback". When I press this button on the beolink APP this will put Beosound 5 directly to A.AUX-mode (i.e N.MUSIC + Go +4). So in some way B&O are aware of this command to directly go to A.AUX. But they have not described this command anywhere. It was just "luck" that I found this when I tried different numbers with the BEO4-remote yesterday.
