I just saw that yesterday afternoon, and after listening to some of his work the evening before. He lived a full and long life, but he will definitely be missed. A true great, and he wrote some of the most thought provoking and haunting music/poetry ever. Rest In Peace.
To me, the song "The Miracle" is one of the strangest and most unsettling things I've heard. Open to a lot of interpretations.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

You tell me that silenceis nearer to peace than poemsbut if for my giftI brought you silence(for I know silence)you would say This is not silencethis is another poemand you would hand it back to me.

Thank you, Leonard Cohen!
Another giant left the scene.
Fare thee well, Leonard, fare thee well.

I was walking past St Peter's Eastern Hill Anglican Church yesterday and a homeless man stopped me to tell me that Leonard Cohen had passed.
That was the first I learned of it. I stopped and was chatting with this guy and although he was substance affected, he was quite coherent and he was explaining how he saved Debbie Harrys life once when she too was down and out in a gutter also substance affected and he saved her and thats how Blondie was born.
He was a great man to chat to and its amazing the people you cross paths with and how you actually hear of news like this.
I dont know much of Leonard Cohen besides his name and the recognition that he was a great artist.
Time to look up some of his catalogue, im sure i know many of them.
Good place to start for anyone new to LC:
Performing his signature song live in London in 2008.
