Hi Alf, I may be able to help you, I bought on the US bay a BM 4400 for parts, it is in very bad condition, how bad I dont know yet, but according to seller and pics from the bay only one of the sliders is missing. All my purchases from US bay goes to my family in McAllen TX, I go there for pickup one or 2 times a year, going up there for Xmas, and beginning of January I will know, I can arrange shipping from the US.

Hi Søren,

Thank you kindly for your reply - yes, that would be great to get that Power-Switch and perhaps

Those slider back-parts, emphasis is on the tuning slider.......anything....  :-)

Well, I got myself in a quite deep hole.......no clue yet on how to change that switch - in looks like a terrible job to me.

wiggling on that switch powered up the unit briefly, then the OL light lit up very briefly.........that is most likely only the start of several problems to find and rectify ?!!

But sorry, that is not the correct forum's devision.

Let me know when you can ship so I can paypal-pay you.

Cheers ALF

I will come back to you in January when I have the BM 4400 here,

I have been thinking about the switch assembly, when cleaning and repairing mine, I had the whole front apart and when assembling the whole thing I had problems adjusting the switch assembly to the front plate, if not exactly adjusted the switch "pegs" will touch the front plate in the upper or lower positions and this can cause the failure you are describing here, So check that first before we get into a lot of work, to change only one switch or even one part of the assembly will be a pain in the but.

Note that the power switch was changed in production from serial number 1524001.
The two switch types are NOT interchangeable.

Thanks Martin, I dont even know the serial number of the one I bought, but we will compare when I have it here, I placed a bid of USD 10.00 (Ten) forgot about it and got it, shipping and handling was USD 49.00. I just bid on it thinking it would be good to have some spares for my working BM 4400 as they get more and more difficult to find

Thanks again Martin cor pointing that out !!!

Just saved myself $50 - to be spent on some of your great spares Whistle I presume.

Now I understand why the one currently on ebay does look different to mine !!
