Hi Guys,

My Beogram 8000 has been working perfectly for a while now and then suddenly during a listening session with my friends it started misbehaving....

When I press play the tt spins up and the tone arm moves into position and I hear a relay click as usual but instead of the tone arm lowering the speed display goes blank, the deck still spins and after a couple of seconds the screen comes back on and the tone arm returns to its rest position.

The sensor seems to work as pressing play without a record on the platter causes the tone arm to travel to the centre and then return as normal.

Any ideas?

Lee

Just to follow up... at the point when the tonearm is supposed to be lowered and the screen goes blank the turntable stops being powered and can be stopped by hand.

After a few seconds the screen comes on the deck platter spins back up and the tonearm returns to the beginning.

All the buttons on the control panel work as expected.

Please help.
