Back in the saddle, all back to normal after all the shite, yesterday I opened the BL/BM 5000 system (sold to Piaf) to clean the phono switch which has been acting up lately, a good cleaning with a electrocleaner and compressed air fixed that, for good measure I cleaned all the other switches as well. Connected receiver and BG and let it play changing between phono and tuner several times, checked voltage feeds and idle current, all still spot on, will let it play for a couple of days and switch between phono, aux and tuner frequently, (playing as I write this)
.In May I was in DK and Henrik gave to me for a very but very low price a BL/BM 5000, so while I was at it I opened these units as well to check for function and failures.
The Receiver:
Both fuses blown, checked the connections from power cord to fuses, then opened the voltage switch and checked the main transformer, both main winding are open circuit, 20V winding OK, 30V winding OK. will check directly at the transformer later, but I think it is gone.Henrik had an extra BM 5000 receiver when I was there i May, I hope he is still sitting on it.
mI packed up the receiver for later, and opened the BL, fuses OK, and it looked better inside than the one I made last year, but the main switch was broken, but I didnt find any leaking caps or burn marks, that one was packed up again and will be opened again in January for restoring, here some pics
