Greetings all,

I was wondering if those darlingtons Tip141-Tip146 could be replaced by Tip142-Tip147

without any modifications in the power-amp section ??

Thank you kindly for your comments

Yes! No problem, those transistors can handle a higher voltage, no other differences.

But watch out for counterfeit parts.

They are everywhere.

Thanks for pointing that out Martin,

But:  how do you know which is the real thing and which isn't ??

I was going to buy from 'little diode' in the UK or 'Reichelt Elektronik' from DE.

If I can't trust these guys then I am really  in trouble or am I not ???

I would rather not recommend any particular supplier.
I have received counterfeit components from almost all suppliers I have ever used (I believe most suppliers are indeed selling in
good faith and so far I have always got my money back from all known and well-established suppliers when I returned the parts).
And even if I pointed you to one from which I have never received anything but original parts, it wouldn't be any guarantee.

It's getting more and more difficult to spot counterfeit components, but look and compare the lettering, the logos, the
date codes etc. and the general quality and finish of the component.

Don't buy from sellers in China. That's the sure way to get fakes.

Once fitted you are no longer in doubt...

Martin
