Apologies for the simple question - I haven't posted much here and not in years, but I'm still in the process of learning how to keep my Beogram 4002 in tip-top condition (a process that seems to be lasting many weekends and evenings...). I have two questions
1) I have the below type of motor/ platter.
At some point during my tinkering, the white plastic spindle/pulley/bobbin that sits on the motor and spins the belt came off. How do I securely reattach this? Is it supposed to make contact with the body of the motor below, or spin freely without resistance on the shaft of the motor?
The primary problem is that it's loose, so occasionally doesn't grip the shaft, and therefore spins slowly even though the motor speed is constant and correct. Should I attach it to the shaft with glue? Or should be be greased? Is the shaft shearing the inside of the spindle and making things worse?
2) I've made contact with Dillen/Martin previously about replacement belts for the 4002 that he is crafting, but understand they're still not ready. Is there anywhere else that can supply a decent belt so I don't have to bug Martin every few months?
Thanks a million for helping me with these boring and amateurish queries!
Hi there,
This appears to be of acceptable quality:

I think a drop of super glue might be the answer to your loose pulley.
