I have just ordered on ebay my second Beogram, this time a 8500. I understand it was one of their last recordplayers they made, and it looks so good. Is there anything I need to be aware of?

I want to set it up with my Beomaster 6500 and Beolab 6000 speakers. I am very excited now, because I have now got 2 Beograms, a 3300 in the dinning room ( connected up with an ouverture) and one in the lounge.

Any information about my new turntable is very welcome. Thanks.

If I remember rightly, the Beogram 8500 doesn't have an inbuilt pre-amp. If you're planning to use it with a Beomaster 6500, you'll need a separate pre-amp as the 6500 doesn't have an inbuilt one either.

There was an option for the 6500/7000 amp, which could have a RIAA amplifier built in. Never seen one in real life, but there is an image of it on this site :)

Beogram 5500/8500 and 9500 does not have RIAA built in, 3500/4500/6500/7000 has..
