I am considering upgrading my kitchen setup from a pair of Beovox 4500 to a pair of Beolab 6000.

I really like the design of the Beolab 6000 and have my eyes on a pair with white fronts.

But will the sound be better or worse?

The full kitchen setup currently consists on 4 speakers. Two Beovox 4500 and two build in ceiling speakers from B&W. The B&W speakers provides most of the bass as the bv 4500 are a little light on bass.

The room is about 50 sqm.

The speakers are powered by a Beosound 2300 with 2 external amps.

Office: Beomaster 3000-2 with Beovox P45 (all in white)

Living room: Beomaster 7000 and Beogram 7000 with Beovox RL 7000 (all in white)

Kitchen: Beocenter 2300 with Beovox 4500 (not available in white :-(

Have also been considering Beolab 8000, but find them a little to large for a kitchen setup. Any opinions on their sound signature compared the the Beovox 4500?

Without knowing the shape etc of your room and the placement of the speakers, it will (at least for me) be impossible to say,

whether the 6000's will do a better job!?

However, the 4500's can be very good.

You wiil have to try them out before judging.

Haven't heard the Beovox 4500, but if you would consider a BL wall speaker, the BL4000 to me sounds much much better than the BL6000 in a equally sized room.

Just got a used MK1 pair and love them, no sub needed as I would say the 6000 do require.
