Bola 3500 airplay

hello I have moved into a house with an integrated beolab 3500 and 3200 and despite reading lots of forums and manuals can't work this out. apparently the system was setup to use a mac with airplay so I have setup my airport express and connected the 3500 witch has 2 wires from the rear that combine into a 3.5mm jack and plugged it into the airport, if i use the button a.mem on the be04 remote i can play iTunes through it using airplay and iPhone remote however the sound only comes out of the left hand speaker is this correct? the radio etc comes out as stereo.
