Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my old TV to a Beovision 11.

The problem is that I'm using a Beolab 10 as center channel on my setup. Does anybody know if by using all speakers of the BL11 as center channel will I be downgrading the audio capabilities of my setup?

In other words, considering only the audio performance, as a centre channel, which one performs the best: BL10 or BV11?

Cheers, Dante.

PS: I don't know if it makes any difference, but consider a pair of BL5 as fronts.

On the contrary - the BV11 will be an upgrade!!!

And with 2 BL5's - that is a setup, that a lot would wish for ;-)

I have both and the speakers of the bv 11 are at least as good as the bl10 which I love and use with a 7 55 mk2 with bl5 at front.

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

I am not saying, that the BL10 is bad - not at all!

But it is the audioengine in the BV11, that makes the difference - much more flexibility and tuning possibilities.

Dante - what was/is your 'old tv'. You did not mention that.

And which size of the BV11 do you plan to buy?

My TV is a 55" plasma Panasonic which is almost 10 years old, so, the replacement would be the BV11 55" version.

If the BV11 sound performance were not as good as the BL10, then I would try to get a Beosystem 4, keep the BL10 and look for another TV (or even a projector...)

That might be a way to go, indeed!

If you are happy with how the sound is now, why not.
