Thanks to my neighborhood auto body shop!  I would never attempt to paint this myself for fear of runs everywhere, but I figured that a professional auto body painter should be able to do a good job!  The painting of the endcaps cost just a little more than the endcaps!

I still think that the picture quality and sound is amazing on the BV8-40. With the new ATV you suddenly have a new Smart TV ;-)

How do these compare sound wise? I do not use the Beolit so much as the AirPlay is not so comfortable than a BT connection.

Beolit has more bass, but sometimes a bit to much for my taste. Can be a bit boomy. Both have very detailed sound with nice midrange and clarity.

I missed the deep bass a bit when I started to use the A2, but now I really like the sound. It can still deliver surprisingly good punch when e.g placed near a wall.

Your new place looks good !

Still think that was one of the best speaker designs ... EVER

But my oh my ... I had forgotten how big they are ... discrete but BIG

Thank you, elephant! And yes, the speakers are huge but thankfully very discreet. The day they came up my girlfriend was full of reservations but two of her girlfriends were here and just wouldn't stop praising their looks. Very convenient Big Smile

You got me there, leslie! Completely forgot to mention that these are actually displays from BL4500 which are green Smile

Did you use the 4500 amps or the displays only?

Congratulations! The black cover for the A6 looks fabulous (it looks like you have two A6's in the picture... well, now that you have an extra cover, it needs a body (might want to get a second LOL). And  silver stand with black S8 satellite looks better than I would have thought it would. I wonder if B&O could have easily made black stands. They already anodize stands in black (BL17 floorstands).

Even though I am thinking about what to do next.. I just came across a set I just could not let pass me by..

Found a set that included BM7000/CD7000 AND  a really really nice BG7000 with MMC4 pickup, inlcluding a set of Beovox Penta's. I have never owned a set of Penta's, so I decided to move this new system into the living room instead of Beolab 7.2 and BS3000.

The previous owner says they havent used the system very much, had it from new in 94, but honestly think that the MMC4 has played 20 hours or so..

Had the BL7000 sitting with a BM4500 in the office, but now it can come to its glory again :)

The Penta's sound fantastic, although I need to refoam the mid's and I will propably recap them also..

Just need to add the Beocord 7000 for completeness ;)

The Qantas Store had a sale on BeoTime alarm clocks so i decided to get one.

Arrived today.

Love it.

It's very sensitive on the touch and it works well with the avant.  You can put it on standby, change channels up and down (in my case foxtel) and the volume up and down.

yay.

It's also neat that when you flip the BeoTime the display also flips so it's displaying the correct way around.

I don't see the BeoTime on B&O's website for a very long time now - i wonder if it is readily available -in my case it was.

I believe they haven't been made for quite a while, so it's old stock that is being sold now.

I love mine as well. I don't actually use it that much - most of the time it sits as a coffee table clock - but just as a visual & tactile gadget is was worth every penny. I only wish that the displays would automatically light up when you look at it Big Smile

I have two Beotimes, one on each side of the bed, and we love them. So tactilely pleasant, well thought out from a human engineering standpoint, so stylish. If I need to know the time in the night I just lightly tap it. Wonderful product, too bad they are not made anymore.

Hey Mark, is that a B&W Zeppelin I see? If anything, that design is more B&O than some of the play things. I have the A8 in a guest bedroom but much prefer the dynamic sound of the Zeppelin. the A8 is very mid sounding - dull bass with a dull treble.

eagle eyes Yes - thumbs up I just love the purity of design of the Zeppelin (the sound is impressive too) but rarely use it these days as my BeoLit has taken over in this room due to practicality. I also under calculated when I mounted it in the chimney *** and is far too bassy when played loud for my tastes or the pigeons ..

Quite pleased the way it all turned out - I am keeping my finger crossed that the photo actually will attach.

Just in case you were wondering why in the world would I have my T1 standing on cork " legs" - the T! gets too hot and causes the speakers to cut in and out.

Ever since I did this it stopped - and yes B&O are amazed and bewildered by my " high tech" solution.

T1 basically overheating when placed on a surface as intended? Is that a defect, or a known characteristic of the model?

(What's funny is that I was just thinking, "what's that T1-looking stand with tiny legs?")

Hi Earl,

Truth is I don't know, it is a big mystery.

What I do know is this  -- the unit was swapped out and the result was the same.

Speakers and T1 received the latest firmware and software updates from B&O technicians - same result.

Without doubt, the Marantz Receiver generates a fair amount of heat in addition to the heat generated by T.

Net, net - when I place the T1 on the shelf the speakers start cutting out - when I have it on legs - they don't.

The only difference between the two positions - more heat from below dissipates and this seems to make a big difference.
