WOW!!!! Being honest, a full road trip is on the cards. I'd love to start in Portofino and go all the way to the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and then the Island of Capri. I'm thinking it would be incredible to cycle it!!! I love Italy!

Update to my listening area... These BV2500 clones are very fun to listen to!!

There is a BG1800 hiding there waiting patiently for an overhaul.

You may have your speakers too close tot he wall - the BL3 manual suggests no closer than 30cm....

Nice set up though!

What are your main speakers? Do you find the "cubes" help their sound?

Those are JBL Northridge E80's. Nothing to write home about in general, but I personally like them a lot. However, what I don't like is their metallic dome tweeter. The cubes allow me to toe out the speakers enough to take off the edge of those cheap tweeters and instead focus on the cubes which are filled with delicious silk domes. They are extremely fun to listen to - the sound stage is huge! They really add a lot of 'air' around the sound and provide an incredible listening experience. Everything sounds much more real.

After listening to this setup and then switching back to the Pentas or BeoLab 5000s, I miss that 3 dimensional experience.

Ah, thanks, I thought the speakers looked familiar but couldn't place them. I agree, in fact I don't like most metal domes no matter how pricey the speaker, much prefer doped silk or even soft plastic as B&O uses. Also, many mass market speakers like JBL and such tend to voice the speakers overly bright. The old "West Coast" sound JBL was famous for was exaggerated highs and a large hump in bass response. I always preferred the "New England Sound" or the "British Sound" such as Advent, AR, KEF, old Tannoy, etc.

I suppose you could use an L-Pad for level control and excise the tweeters out of the JBLs. Would require a bit of crossover manipulation if the total impedance is much different. Would take some work but might be a fun project. Then again, maybe I'm the only one who creates such monstrosities for fun...if you're happy with the sound there's not much that needs changing.

I once, for a brief while, had a pair of the old Design Acoustics D12 speakers, large dodecahedron speakers, down facing 10 inch woofer, up facing 5 inch cone mid, and tweeters on the other faces. Really dreadfully cheap, crappy paper cone drivers, but sounded surprisingly good, threw a huge room filling image that was stable, if diffuse, over a large area. I've often wondered what it would sound like to get a pair (if you could find them) and modify them to use better drivers.

Very nice indeed Paulo. I have had B&O in an Audi A5 for the last few years and loved it. Just ordered a BMW 435 which has Harman Kardon option.  Will be very interested to compare.

Just love looking at all these posts...

So I've been working on my vintage B&O set up for just over a year now and today it is complete! Thanks to Steve as sounds heavenly for the final touch (the previous owner of the beogram changed the leads over to phono, now faithfully restored to din and free of hum!) ...

I must thank all the lovely forum members here, I have done several tweaks and fixes on my two decks over the year thanks to the incredibly helpful information stored on beoworld. It was also from reading on this site that i eventually discovered the holy grail vintage hifi set up i have now put together from no less than 8 ebay, preloved and gumtree deals. And that doesn't include the other B&O stuff i bought, some still waiting to be fixed up...!!

So i settled on the mighty Beomaster 4400, a Beogram 4004 sporting a MMC 20CL (the 4000 i picked up last year needs a little TLC), Beovox 45-2 Speakers with the stands (two pairs, another spaced out back in the room :-), the Beocord 1700, an MC30 cabinet to house it all (wish i could find a rosewood one, maybe one day)! and an ipad air with spotify to finish off the record collection.

It sounds so so good! I love it.

And have become totally obsessed in the process.

I haven't really got much to flash since almost everything is packed away for the next year due to a major house refurbishment. I did receive this delivery from Lifestyle AV the other day though..

New "computer" speakers for the homeoffice/guestroom. The BL3's in white on the extra tall stands from STBbrackets really fit in.

I always been skeptical about the BL3's. How can they cost so much for that small size? But damn! So much powerSmile

Is that little something on the left of your marvellous 3D cabinet the shrinked version of the A9? I thought it was available at BeoPlay only on Friday after Easter 2016.
