Actually, there is a small issue present with the A1 when using it in stereo. If the phone is too close to one of the speaker, it gets the chainsaw-effect/dropouts. I think it is mainly if the phone is close to the speaker that is acting as a slave.

I don't know if it is because I have paired both speakers with my phone before setting them up in stereo.

Yes, this makes sense. The phone transmits only to the master, and if the master is further away the phone has to transmit a stronger signal. Meanwhile, the slave is trying to listen to the master but probably has it's receiver circuit saturated by the close proximity and higher transmission strength from the phone versus the more distant signal from the master. Even though these two distinct conversations will likely be conducted on different radio channels, there will be sufficient bleed between the nearby channels to cause this sort of issue.

There's probably not a lot that B&O could do to resolve this - it's the same issue you experience with radios when trying to pick up a distant station when there is a stronger local signal on a nearby frequency (and the reason why, for example, they recommend a minimum spacing between WISA transmitters)

Martin.

Hello! Been lurking this forum back and forth for a long time now and i think its time for me to post something and introduce myselfSmile im 33years from Sweden but i now live in 3different countriesBig Smile

My first start to B&O was in my early 20s ,i had a good job and nowhere to put my money at that time (wish i hade that problem nowStick out tongue) so i purchased a used beosound 3000 mighty inspired from the tv show "nip/tuck" ,then moved on with some second hand beolab 6000s and later beosound 9000 and a pair of lab8000.

That kept me satisfied until the release of beovision10. I was invited to the launch in norway and decided the same night to buy it.

My first new purchase from BO and probably the first in norway to have it. Was custom delivered with white fret to my request.

After a year or so i was working a lot and stayed abroad so i got a much smaller/uglier/cheaper apartment and decieded to sell all my BO stuff[:\'(] after that i never recovered back in to BO mostly because i did not like anything new they released.. Until one day not long ago i saw an ad for the beolab 18 in rose gold. Unfortunate for me they were no longer for sale. After i while i got hold of a dealer that could source me a brand new pair with a real good price so i had them shipped over and im happy ever since.Embarrassed

Now im just looking for a sub. Cant decide about the lab11 (Wall mounted on the pillar on the left) or a S8 sub.. Like the estetics of the lab11 but better bass from the s8.. Dont want to go with the lab19..with that kind of money invested in 18/19 i rather buy a set of used lab5s..

Thanks for reading and ignore all misspelling etc. As i write this on a phone with autocorrect on swedishBig Smile

Below a pic of my current setup.

Lab18 connected to a s8 connection hub via optical to a ps4 that acts as my media center.

Yes welcome and thanks for posting.

I would love to see how your connections in your s8 connection hub look if you're willing to post

I think the s8 sub would be better than the 11 for your setup

Thanks for sharing the 18s in rose gold are beautiful

Oh, davvaer. How I can relate to this. One of my first Beo product was the Beosound 3000 that I also liked in Nip/tuck.
And damn autocorrect when you using Swedish. (Blir förbannadStick out tongue).

But looking at your lovely setup with BL18s. Are you sure not to gor for the Bl19 after all? I maybe think that the other subs cant match the Bl18 in both sound and design. So go for the Bl19 or do as I did. Buy Bl5's Big Smile

Love your setup and your home!

I have recently decided to upgrade my living-room with a some surround sound and a multi-room sound system. Although I was tempted by the Moment in the first place, I have to say so many criticisms about this product in the forum  made me skeptical about it while the appalling demo I had in the store (I wasn't able to search for some particular songs) finished to drive me away to the Essence mk2 instead.

The essence is sharing the BV11's speakers, and has a Beogram 7000 connected via line-in- which is a lot of fun.

One thing I dislike with this setup is that when you have the essence share the BV's speakers (newly updated feature), you can't stream your music through AirPlay anymore, nor can you use Spotify Connect. I find Bluetooth far less qualitative, particularly using Tidal as a main music source. I generally end up turning my TV on and streaming from Tidal using my Apple TV- which makes the essence expensively redundant.

Anyway, I'm definitely longing for a better music system from BO, or a deeply updated Moment. For me, this new BS should allow to stream high definition music (not being bound to Deezer), also from your phone (other than Bluetooth), should have better defined search features, should better handle the modern user's natural multi-sourced music collection (that's is is a really curated way) and should be constructed up to BO's standards (I found the Moment's rubber part and screen to be ridiculously cheap). I acknowledge that PatternPlay and the mood wheel are very nice features- but I myself am a big data guy and loved MOTS on the BS5.

I might also just go back to using a BS5 which, by incidentally using it at my father's, I found very proper and qualitative- as well as beautiful...

Before the upgrade, I had a pair of BL17 as front speakers + a BV11-40. I have now moved the BL17 to rear speakers and bough a pair of BL18 (walnut) as front speakers. I really cannot say how astonished I am by these speakers.

Also, my father has 4 BL8000, and there is no need to keep listening up to the end of one song to hear the differences between these speakers.

I personally very much enjoy the BL 18's bass, which I find vibrant and punchy. I keep reading that people tend to add a BL19 to this classic setup, I'm curious to know what particular difference it makes. I might end up trying one anyway :).

Female voices are, to me, one of the greatest reproductions in the BL18, although voices are very precise and warm generally speaking.

Lastly, the very structure of the speaker, that is verticality itself with a bass reflex design, makes the "sound personality" very natural to me. There is something close to a belly-lung-mouth ordering in the BL18 that I find very powerful and charismatic. Sometimes I even feel there is indeed someone breathing and singing right in my living room

Keynes Paris - Beautiful! Is there not a Tidel app for the Apple TV4 yet? If not, I guess the best and most reliable way to to buy a iPad Mini 128GB and airplay it to your Apple TV. I wouldn't wait for a B&O music system as they are so incompetent with software implementation. Just look at the Moment thread - truly wrong and dishonest of a company to put out such a bad, unreliable product.

Keynesparis.  Love the setup especially the walnut fronts.  A nice and clean look/design.

I also think the sound from my BL18s is amazing.  If you like female vocals using the BL18 then try Tom's Diner (Suzanne Vega) nice and loud.

A cool song with beautiful lyrics, Paul .

I picked Tom's Diner because of the amazing way her voice sounds unaccompanied.  The BL18s let you hear every breath and reproduce the vocals with such purity and clarity.

Yes Paul the BL18s are absolutely beautiful. The workmanship on the wooden (oak in my case) fronts is superb and after two years of ownership I love the way the wood colour and patina subtly changes. They create enjoyment just by standing there. But when they play.....,,,

For me a perfect combination of form, design and function. And I agree, timeless.

Michael and Duels, this is why I stick to my iPhone/Apple TV for music and why the A1 is lovely :) Is the software more consistent in the B&O TVs? I'll maybe buy the new B&O PLAY TV if I like the look of it but I want it to 'work' on the few times that i'll use it - I don't have time for things that don't work. What i'll do is wait a few months and see how people get on with it on this forum.

This is so it cool. It's sort of related to another thread where we were discussing a Beosound 'using' speakers attached to a Beovision. So seeing what you're saying above, all it's really doing is creating a multiroom setup which Spotify and AirPlay licensing doesn't allow from what I understand. Really not cool. Something as expensive as B&O should be able to go 'directly' from the BeoSound to the speakers attached to the BeoVision. That's basically how my dealer talks about it but it doesn't appear to be true.
