Thanks for the great messages guys.

@CB The base is narrow, but the weight distribution makes the BS35 rock solid. Living in California with the occasional tremor and earthquake as well as having 3 cats, I don't see this as a concern.

@BAND'OH I actually has the same exposure/view from my living room as well. I live in the Hollywood Hills and we have a nice view of the entire LA Basin.

Got an Essence remote from a forum member and paired it to the BS35 for remote control from my desk. Works great and just what I need when I can't get up and don't really want to bother launching BeoMusic. Gotta say I'm loving this BS35 so much I may sell on of my A6s soon and get another from the bedroom and wall mount it.

Off topic, has anyone heard anything regarding the new Android App? I see it in the play store and seems like a fantastic upgrade from BeoMusic. Unfortunately I'm on iOS and it hasn't been ported as yet. Hoping is forthcoming and that it adds a few features sorely missed from BeoMusic (random, shuffle, etc). Wondering if anyones had some first hand experience with it??

I haven't starred in any movies (that I am aware of lol) - its my mug.

May I ask what is the most surprising feature of your BS35? Is the OLED screen easy to navigate?

Even if it was paired as a package with the 17s would complement.

May be the very easy configuration process with an iPhone (Airplay) ! Compared to the issues of BeoMusic, it's surprisingly good.

Best thing for sure is the new (beta) Android app !

Yes, the central command panel is easy to operate (NB : you don't touch the screen, only the panel below it) ; you can choose in a list what will be on the screen, and what will not, and change the order too.

So - the conclusion must be:

We want more BeoSounds (with or without build-in speakers) with an in-build navigation display!!!

@CB

Did you know that the BS35 has an ir receiver - to use with the Beo4/BeoRemoteOne.

According to the User Guide you can also use the 'Essence-wheely' - so I suppose also the BROne/BT.

Exactly, and with a digital-out port also (DPL, SPDIF, Toslink)

Interesting Hmm

I use my wheely (set to IR mode) with the BL5s. When I had the Ouverture in the same room, the wheely started both each time I pressed it (Radio command was sent).

I was surprised it didn't happen now that the BS35 has taken the place of the Ouverture...

I saw the settings for Bluetooth, not for IR --> I'll check that later.

Aussie Michael, love the red line around the set you added! Would look great inbetween a pair of old red line speakers.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

The FAQ says that, in order to use IR, you must first set the audio system in A.OPT 1.

I do not have a Beo4 anymore, so I'm afraid I can't test this... But I believe that if it works for the Beo4, it works for the wheely too.

Hello
Then Chromecast Audio set up, and the smart is that I can use Encoren's USB connector.
It was easy and elegant in its appearance and sound is actually better than I expected.
Thanks guys.

No way - it is just a sound input!

The BS/BM5 has a USB port, that can be used as a line-in connection, when you add a USB/ADC to it.

Lost of post on this - please search the forum.

And how did you finally set it up? The S8 sub playing as part of the rears?

I also like this one. The S8 sub matches the general shape of the BL9's.

If only the satellites took the shape of the BL9 ALT units... or were just dedicated ALT units in the first place Hmm

Thanks guys!

Regarding setting up the S8 as a sorround system. Instead of one RJ45 cable there are two from the S8 sub to the television. One transmits the subwoofer signal (I choose the BeoLab 14 sub in the menu as it is identical) and for the other I choose BeoLab 14 satellites. Easy as pie. 5.1 sound stage is phenomenal. Great power from the S8 sub without taking the punch from the Lab 9's and the two S8 satellites have crystal clear audio for rears. Plus what an upgrade from 40" to 55" when watching movies. I am very pleased! Yes - thumbs up

BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)

Hi

Today my good old BeoSound Overture found new use as connected to my Yamaha B3 piano having silent system. That is the aux of the Overture connected to the aux of the mini jack out on the digital piano letting me use the BL2500 as speakers. Nice for playing recordings from the pianos memory.

I guess I could also have a complete silent play along with the CD in the head phones if I also connected to the pianos mini jack aux input. Does a 7 pin DIN to twice mini jack cable exist?

Happy new year!
