Wow.... that is BeoVision 10 money!
Today arrived mine new tv
Hi koning congrats on your new tv it looks beautiful where it is situated, are you pleased with it so far?
Yes I'm very pleased. It' situated in my living room.
This setup is an early 80th birthday present from my wife. Apolgised for the slight angle, but it is not due to a liquid lunch! The house is not my home.

Can I talk to your friend?
Hello,
always loved the design of Bang & Olufsen and I have now started to build my own setup. I am especially fond of the B&O's from the 90's and early 00's, maybe partly because these were the pieces I dreamt of growing up. Anyway, after finishing school and starting to work I have started to build my own collection of classics.
In the living room I am running a surround setup with a pair of Beolab 8000 as fronts, a pair of Beolab 4000 as centers (will change the frets to black) and a pair of Beoloab 6000 as surround speakers. As I do not own a Beovision, I have used a Cambridge Audio receiver to send the sound and it does the job very well. In the living room I also have my first B&O purchase, a Beosound on a CD stand.
Connected to the Beosound I have an Airport Express to allow for Airplay functionality. You can also see that I have a Logitech Harmony 1000 as remote.. Will probably change the Harmony to a Beo5 sometime but I have yet to try a Beo5 and decide if I like the it's design or not.
In the bedroom I have B&O's "ugly duckling" which I love more for every day, the Beolab 2000. Back in the days I thought it was horrific but now I cannot take my eyes of it's "butterfly" design. It is linked through a Beolink converter to the Besound 2300 in the living room which means that it also has Airplay functionality.
My most recent purchase is a Beosund Century which I will mount on the wall in my kitchen. I will switch the Airport Express in the living room to an Apple TV 1st gen (jailbreaked to allow Airplay functionality) and hook the Century up to the Airport Express. You can also see my Beo4 and my A9 keyring.
My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

I agree - looks ugly but is so functional - wish I had bought one when I could have !

You have an outstanding collection ranging from the small (A9) through to the large (BL8K).
I think you deserve a B&O bottle opener for making such a great collection.
wow, great setup, looks fantastic
My official first college setup
Finished installing all of this gear yesterday. Its about time too, school starts in a week!
Beo4 'til I die!
Rivenflush, that is a wonderful, cosy looking house! It looks as though it has a real soul!!!
EVAN, you old skool boy - CDs :) It was my BANG&OLUFSEN that got me to hate CDs as I had a Technics P550 CD player for 10 years - NEVER once did it skip a CD. That damn B&O, the minute the volume was decent, CDs would skip everywhere :( as that was my love of CDs over and has never returned :( although when I get into the studios at work and see Pioneer CDJ900 decks I enjoy (although these clever little things play files straight from our MacBook Pro's with a LAN cable and feeds the files to 3 of the CDJs - very very clever!
That is a ridiculous statement about your beosound century, making you hate cds? Your comparing a entry model all in one unit, combined with speakers that is going to have some impact when the volume is turned up.I have never had any problems with my b&o cd players,The technics is a seperate based cd player, which is a rebadged panasonic.Go and listen to a meridian 508 cd player instead off your compressed apple tunes, and then make a statement, the sound is in a different league.
I remember your statement about b&o not being good for dance music,I find the sonic signature fantastic.I listen to a lot of dance music and my beolabs sound awesome with clear and tight bass, especially my a8.
My cousin is a top house dj,his name is yousef, and he has b&o in his house and thinks its fantastic.
Butch1 PLEASE don't waste my time!

Oh Paul Don't judge CD's -or B&O - because of your experience with a faulty BS Century. There was definitely something wrong with your Century if it skipped CD's...(Did you remember to loosen the transport-screws..? ) Just kiddin'!!! But seriously -My BS Century NEVER skipped a CD -nomatter how loud i turned up the volume...
You waste everyones time with your ill informed ridiculous statements, you comment on things you dont know about.Have you ever compared any of the items you talk about and slate. An ipod and a beosound century is not hi-fi.
You go on about being educated,it was clearly a waste of time, with some of the statements and comments you come out with. You are the same age as me,but at times its as if your on another planet.I would not talk. about or slate anything I never knew about. If I mentioned anything its a educated observation from experiencing the product, not what I see in a shop or magazine.
At times, you sound like you are the most educated person on here, and us B&O fans who actually buy B&O,are so stupid for buying the brand,You then slate b&o for having samsung on there phone, when you have a samsung tv yourself.
No disrespect, but I honestly, hand on heart dont know why you come on this forum.I have read all your posts on the old forum and this one,and you clearly state that B&O, is overpriced junk, bought by old men, with more money than sense.I could be wrong but that is the general impression, you put across.
Most of us on this forum love b&O for all different reasons, and buy accordingly. We dont care if you can buy a seperates system stacked to the ceiling that sounds better for less money, and that b&o is overpriced. What is your mini?is that not overpriced, and you dont buy d&G for quality.I could go on and on,but you still would not get the picture.I honestly dont know if you post things to wind us up,or you seriously dont know what you are saying.
I wish some of you guys will please stop talking about the BS8 is some kind of bargain, you are just encouraging B&O. There are so many better systems out there in terms of performance and build quality and a third of the price. This product is pure fake and total rubbish. Sorry guys, you are stuck in your own little B&O world! You are very very silly if you think this system performs well. It's a disgrace!
I certsinly DO NOT agree with Linder in his remarks to BOSE. let me inform you, that in our broadcast industry, we regard BOSE as a top qualityy pro brand that we can rely on. The BOSE 802 pro speakers have been used for outside broadcast for nearly 40 years now.
As regards to BS8 it sounds flat, cheap and pure rubbish the second it plays. Get over yourself BS8 customers, you are fooling yourself with this utter, utter garbish. Im sure Tue is laughing all the way to the bank at the idiots who buy this fake, out sourced pretentious filth!!! It's rubbish and an absolute laughing stock within the radio industry.
Steffen:But seriously -My BS Century NEVER skipped a CD -nomatter how loud i turned up the volume...
Pauls fantasy is amazing, the volume circuit has nothing to do with the Laser unit, My Beosound 3000 is 12 years old and never failed or skipped tracks.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
I hate it, it's just so wrong! Evil with all of those old man oil guzzler cars. The Apples, Pioneer etc of this world are creative products for creative people but B&O is just so horribly pretentious now but not cool at the same time.
Gone are the people, the International feel to be replaced by materialism to the extreme. It's vulgar and cheap! I'm totally turned off my this.
Ive bought B&O in the past but the sad thing is, would I recommend them to a really good friend? No way, i simply could not! Sorry B&O but i've moved on. I find you overpriced, pretentious and you fail to deliver on performance! My B&O days are totally over and my life is nicer and more fun without them!
Sorry paul, but can you see were I am coming from, regarding your posts.
To be fair, I think that Paul means that the resonance from the speakers should make the CD mech skip in the Century because it's in one box...
But that's pure rubbish -because the bass units are isolated from the cabinet -as well as the CD mech is isolated by a spring suspension...And that should not be a reason to hate CD's anyway..??? But who understands Paul's way of thinking
I think this forum is big enough and established enough to take criticism of B&O products. I think disagreeing with a post is fine, but please let us try not to denigrate the poster. Everyone is entitled to an opinion - what one makes of its is up to us. I too have a Century, or at least my daughter does, and it has never skipped at any volume. The door fell off once but clipped back of easily!
Peter
Ok, just so the flashing occurs in the correct thread :-)

I had a Century for many years and it never skipped on any cd´s. You must have had a bad laser in your unit and you should have had it replaced. A faulty piece can make any kind of unit appear bad. I love the century and I played LOUD on it several times without any issues what so ever. Just to say :)
