Kromer:I absolutely agree, to me that' the main selling point. And I hope you're not right about datalink problems with Multiroom as I'm going to have a go with my 6500 system and see what's possible.
Guy:Never tried a Beo6 - I just have MCPs, Audio Terminal, BL1000 x lots, BL5000 x 4, Beo4 (most versions) x lots, A9 Keyring, Beotime clock, plus of course all the phones with remotes (mostly BC6000s, but also a 5000 and the remote bases for several 1401s). Sad I know!

Too many, my wife would say. Trouble is, I keep moving house/country (UK, Denmark, Germany, and now Romania in last 7 years). I never know which system/setup I am going to need/want hence keep hold of all of it 'just in case'. One day I may settle down somewhere and sell off all the bits I don't use ...

Kiran:be interested in a pair of BL5000 if you ever considered selling ππ»ππ»
I meant BeoLink 5000, not BeoLab! (If I had the latter I'd be using them!)

Kiran:LOL. I'm dying for some BL5000. They have the same display as the Pentas. But I can't get the CD and Track number working on my Pentas display! Regards Kiran Born in NL; I ride ML
StKong:I may be a bit biased - look at my avatar photo - but I think they are the single nicest thing to come out of Struer in the late 80's.
Kiran:Yes StKong I agree. Do you have a pair?

Yeah...
Books are on another wall
Carolpa:Do you use the "fully wired" PL cables? Are the switches set properly? The Penta's are connected to a.........?
Kiran:Then Pentas are connected to a ML/MCL converter with a 4 pin cable and that is connected to BS3200 via powerlink. I realised one of the 4 pins on the cable is cut on both cables going into the converter from the Pentas because it only allows 3 pins to go in?
I realised one of the 4 pins on the cable is cut on both cables going into the converter from the Pentas because it only allows 3 pins to go in?
I am pretty sure that the ML/MCL does not have the ability to pass the display data to the Pentas. Have you tried connecting the Pentas to the Spkr 1 socket of your BC9000, with some 4-pin speakerlink cables of course?
EDIT: To expand on this: The speaker sockets on the ML/MCL converter are designed to be an MCL output, with the extra pins at the bottom providing either the MCL data (LH socket) or 8V power (RH socket) to/from any downstream MCL connections. The Pentas are designed to be used with 4-pin speakerlink cables, where the extra two pins provide (for each speaker) display data and display chassis. Thus, in order to make use of the display, you need to connect them to a source with speakerlink sockets, such as the BC9000.

Congrats on the BL35, egges! I was curious, I recall a thread sometime ago where a BL35 owner complained about the optical port having a couple of plastic protrusions which prevented normal optical cable sockets from being plugged in and had to get smaller ones. It seems that B&O have addressed this issue based on your picture, did you have any issues on that front?
@MM: you asked faster as i could post, lol
@Sal: i also recalled the thread and was a bit unsure to get a "normal" optical cable. but that was no problem at all, it went in smoothly.
i've had two "issues" now in cabling
-optical outlet from the TV was too narrow at the wall; i helped myself with spacerrings between the wall bracket and the wall (and longer srews of course)
-the upper Line In is in opposite to the power cable; i needed to press a little bit
and thanks for the congrats; it really is a gem
Beautiful colours, composition and point of view
I like it Paolo.
