@ nuljui

How did an immaculate setup like that end up in SoCal? The 5000 Beocord is it still alive?

Amazing,- I was in the 92127 zip for a long time, its another sunny day in ... Smile Do I miss Costco and 1.49$ hotdogs?

I-5 pileups, wildfires, rattlesnakes, black widows and fire ants,-  who cares..right?

I remember a B&O store in Fashion Valley SD, where did you get your pieces?

Hiort:

A6 rocking the library

Looks good.

I recently assembled 7 bookcases in white to line my spare bedroom *** study.

I also installed my A6 in there on top as there is no more wall space lol.

I was listening to the ATP project podcast (about sports and nutrition) which is the antithesis of the b&o beer 🍺 post lol.

I should have been listening to 🎵rocking the suburbs🎵

The A6 is a good little jig in a setup like this.

I also love the grey kvadrat cover.

How is the build quality of it? I was surprised and dissapointed to hear on the Beotalk podcast, that it is veneer on mdf board?

Don't be! It's known as "engineered wood" and it's basically the only way of preventing the delicate wood structures from distorting over time.

I am the proud owner of an RG506 Master, more than 50 years old (see where the concept originates? Stick out tongue). The veneered surfaces are still perfect, but although I am sure the guys back the paid great attention to detail, the solid wood lamels, as you can see in the picture, decided to have their own little excursion.

Besides, nobody ever noticed the original Avant was made entirely from MDF, a proud example of the legacy rooted in the Danish furniture industry!

Your rotated photo makes me wonder what it would be like if STB made a wall-mount bracket. On the plus side, placement options would allow reducing room modes (assuming one's walls were solid enough) but on the minus, you'd have a "cyclops eye" peering at you all the time!

I’m a carpenter by trade, i do have some sort of understanding of how wood behaves 😃

The lamellas on the BV14 are solid tho’.

I’m not saying it’s a bad decision to do it like this. I just thought i paid for a solid piece of oak and instead i got a veneered piece of mdf, it just got a bit more expensive in my eyes....

Your old piece there looks amazing btw!

I just got myself a nice looking beomaster 900k. My plan is to install a chromecast audio inside it and it will be my new kitchen setup Big Smile

And if MM’s got a problem with my poster, he could be one of those from the silo on Oesterbro, or even worse, from Aarhus Stick out tongue

Where did you live now? London, right?

Every once in a while i travel to London to watch football as well. But probably not one of the clubs you’d think.

I follow Luton Town, do you fancy any of the London clubs?

*disclaimer; I know this is not a football thread, just a few danes sorting out their future relations with their fellow Beoworlders Big Smile

How on earth did you get to support Luton Town?? Nothing wrong with that - just surprised!

No, not at all - I did not even realize that the ‘Brøndby IF’ was related to your post.

Sorry for my ignorance - I really had to think hard to get a grasp on what you meant with ‘silo on Oesterbro....from Aarhus

Football of today is way too far out for me - although kicking a ball can be fun  ;-)

Hey Beovox141 , thanks for the shout out. Its taken some time to assemble, if you notice on the bottom I'm 1 piece short of a matching 6000 quad setup too.

The Beocord 5000 is alive now, Its taken some time, but Its a ~weekly listener at this point (I've put a lot of love into it).

Honestly Ive gotten the pieces from all over However, the Beomaster 8000 system I got all at once, Im the 2nd owner, It was non-functional. It took about 6 months to get it to this state.

Cheers!
