Balance.
Not that the BeoSound 2 isn't good... I just prefer the sound of the balance.
If you really want something to love and cherish, which sounds great, I just treated myself to a BeoPlay A9. I think someone on here already mentioned, but Dawsons in Bournemouth are doing some big discounts. I bought a Mk4 in Black which arrived on Tuesday and I'm loving it.
I did have a Mk2 before that which I bought cheap - then my Son's boss demanded I sell him it (he's an old LifeStyle AV customer) so off it went. I kept the money in an envelope and always promised I'd replace it when a 'deal' came up..
So funny with B&O isn't it. I was really 'meh' about the A9 when it first came out. I had plenty pass through my hands and never gave them a second look. Then, when I did take one home - I was blown away. Even the wife liked it - and she's the biggest BeoCynic ever!

@OlivierC
Hi,
the TV is a Sony Bravia 55" with a home made wooden frame. Made from pitch pine and then painted black.
It is fully controlled via Beo4 with help from Lintronic.

In the meanwhile I've moved the B&O IR receiver. It is now hidden behind the right speaker.
The BL4000 are connected to the headphone socket of the TV. No rear speakers.
Lee,
Do you hear a big difference between the BeoPlay A9 MKII and MK4? I have a MKII and been thinking about upgrading. Unsure it's worth the upgrade though.
Would love to hear your thoughts!

My new refurbished by me trumpet stands and Beovox 5702. I think that it is worth seeing.
BeO is like a good wine - the older the better...
they look fantastic! and bet they sound great too
Those beovox speakers and stands look amazing in your set up. In fact they look perfect. Well done!
B&O in my life 😊:
Chris Townsend:Yes I’ve noticed. My apartment is quite boomy and even this little thing does a good job of filling it. I’ve got the Beosound 2/Balance itch now Lee. I think the Balance is technically better but I prefer the 2 looks. What do you think if they were the same price?

Chris, I am sure you've been following my BeoSound 2 thread recently if you're looking to purchase. Mine is arriving tomorrow and I am excited to give it a good run through with lots of different types of music.
I considered some other speakers including the Edge, Balance, A9 and Stage I and am interested to hear your thoughts on the Balance if you decide to purchase that model.
Like you, I am far more drawn to the design of the BeoSound 2 and that's what ultimately wins me over every time I make a purchase. I have no regrets as I am purely design led but of course always hoping that the matching sound quality will be present and just as innovative. Its never easy with B&O! I feel sure the Balance will produce a better sound than the BeoSound 2; by much I don't know until I hear one in real life. Neither do I know how it compares with an A9.
If you haven't read my thread, or if you want to reread, there is a comment from Jaffrey who mentions his friend who is an audiophile and listened to both the BeoSound 2 and the Balance and still chose the BeoSound 2 for sound. That interested me. Of course sound is always so subjective but I wonder, for you, is it sound that wins you over at the time of purchase or the design? Curious.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
Re-veneered by me:
My new ebony Beovox 3800.

Very Nicely thought out and contemporary, I particularly like that clock on the wall.
BeoFrederic:Assembled piecemeal over several years. Not entirely done with this room yet - I *may* replace the BL 4000's with a BS Shape. Or just add a subwoofer to the existing setup. Anyone have thoughts?
Absolutely gorgeous, love the combo mid-century and modern minimalist vibe you have, great windows and roof line too.
Tough decision, I find the shape fascinating and it would look good in your space, however, it's inflexible (once you drill holes and put it up you're stuck with it more or less) and your current system is more amenable to being moved/changed if you ever want to rearrange the furniture. Plus the Shape is expensive. I'd say you'd get better audio performance by adding a sub.
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Paul: Very Nicely thought out and contemporary, I particularly like that clock on the wall.
In case you're interested this is a George Nelson design, part of a larger series of clocks. These clocks were put back in production roughly 20 years ago.
Vähintään yhdeksänkymmentä prosenttia suomalainen!
Thank you for that, Much appreciated.
Paul
Mikipidia: love the windows and the general setup!
Thank you, Miki. The house is known as an 'Eichler.' Joseph Eichler was a real-estate developer / builder who built homes in California from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. The homes were designed by top mid-century architects to make contemporary 'modern' architecture affordable to the middle class. Wikipedia has an article, of course, and you can find some nice pics in, say, most issues of Dwell magazine, or here in Google Images.
I'm biased, of course, but I find that Eicher design, and B&O design, are a nicely complementary. Like most things that old (me included) they are both cussedly idiosyncratic.

Thanks Jeff. IIRC, you're in SoCal, so you probably know about the Eichler homes down there.
I appreciate your thoughts on the Shape/subwoofer question; they are clarifying. Expense aside, the design of the Shape is so compelling! *sigh* more thinking, more research. Wish I had a dealer's showroom so I could hear things.
Thanks, Paul. Beocool is right; the clock design is George Nelson, though iirc this particular one is a knock-off. If I found a Beotime wall clock I'd consider replacing it, but I'm also fond of it as-is.
BeoFrederic, I'm in Georgia, but I do know about the Eichler homes. Stunning pieces of mid-mod architecture, I read Eichler was living in a rented Frank Lloyd Wright home after selling one business while deciding what to do next. The experience of living in such an iconic piece of architecture compelled him to try and bring it to the masses, and he did an amazing job. I live in a mid-century house my late father-in-law designed, with many of the prevailing design elements of the day. I take it you're in SoCal if you own an Eiclher. The glass/roofline sure pegs it as one.
I know, it's so hard to decide without listening, my nearest dealer is about 900-1000 miles away I think, unless he's gone under too. The Shape is inflexible, but as you say so sexy looking and you do have the perfect venue to display it in. Tough decision.
Re knock offs, my dining room table is a Knoll Saarinen table, the official one, because my wife wanted a large one and no knock offs are made in this size. The chairs, however, are knock offs. I got all 6 knock offs for the price of one official Knoll one!
Will be interested to know what you decide to do, sub or Shape!
My set, not entirely B&O, but entirely Danish
Is that a BG 9500? I’m jealous.
A very beautiful idea to hide the beautiful Beolab 11 subwoofer. :-)
Agree - although you could also say....’a beautiful idea to flash the BL11’.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Beautiful way to turn the BL11 into part of an art display! Wonderful setup.
Your set up looks beautiful.
Some change (again) in my home office. :-)
My self made 'wall with floating shelf' with C9 Oled and 8000's.Underneath the shelf are all components, like B&O Playmaker, PS4slim, ethernet switch, led strip controller, etc. hidden.
Planning to make a 3.1/5.1 system, hanging a 7.1/7.2 onder de shelf.Made a topic, concerning this 'upgrade': https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/42873/311423.aspx
This looks amazing. The Beolab 8000s in this set up is probably the best I have seen. It's definitely an inspiration for me. I'd have gone with a 65 inch panel for that space, but this is so nicely done. Congrats!
Everything about this office space is perfect!
1. Nice clean look
2. Looking out into a soothing view
3. Perfect audio system
4. Couch for lounging and catch up on TV if you choose
5. Nice touch with the land-line as well, within easy reach...
Thank you :-)
I am in good condition to work efficiently, indeed ;-)
The couch is mostly used by my daughters to watch cartoons on the Beovision 6
This is my office set up...ok, but not close to as functional as oli. Like Oli I prefer looking out a window if possible since I live on a higher floor and being look out into trees and a skyline is better than looking into a wall 🙂

Indeed, looking back, I would have liked a 65 inch, but designed the wall when I had a Philips 55 inch and when I replaced it for the C9 Oled, I wanted to keep the symmetry. Shelf, height of the 8000s, outlining of the build in fireplace, everything is aligned....

We recently made the decision, for the last time, to renew the TV.As of November we have an LG oled c9 65'' tv, paired with a Summit wisa usb stick for surround sound. (But DTS HD master surround with the Oppo did not work). Even if this was only a temporary solution, I couldn't sufficiently enjoy my blu-ray. The usb stick is now superfluous, should you be interested! We wanted to wait for the Eclipse v2 but it won't come. And if so, it would be very well possible that this will only apply to the 55. We also thought of the Harmony Soundcenter which is much more expensive.
Finally, last year I had made a very good deal with my dealer, when I traded in the Avant 2014, with an x amount too good to spend on a soundcenter. Despite this reduced x amount, it turned out to be a lot of money but definitely worth it. Now we can really enjoy surround to the fullest with Lab 20 and Lab 17.
One thing is still missing: a front wall with the fabric ''waterborn'' by Kvadrat. We hope to be able to realise this in the autumn.
