Tomas:

This is what happens when you don't behave and your best buddy gets sent of to the service shop, you get to stand in the corner Confused and the older boys take your place!

Went back to the beginning of this thread and this "puppy" stood out. Very unexpected and cool to see here, would love to audition some Wilson Audio gear when I have some time.

BeoLignage:

my current setup:

note the angle of the ceiling it does a lot to the bass of the CX:s currently playing without the cona

I think this is my favorite setup in the whole thread. So simple and classic. I need to find a sideboard like this.

Some time ago I moved the BV8-32 to our bedroom and had it operate across the ML wirelessly (i.e. Beolink Wireless 1 and no ML run) and with an ATV attached.

And recently I applied the "Plex Connect" hack to our ATVs so that we could access our Plex Library directly and not have to use Airplay from our iPads.

So today I am re-arranging our BeoEnvironment, and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone:

  1. Show the BV8-32 in its bedroom position (french doors leading to wintery courtyard) and a Plex Connect up (sorry for the blurred font), and then
  2. Show Plex Connect playing one of our music videos

Hi bayrische,

Hi elephant,

thanks for sharing, looks pretty good ;-) and thanks Elephant, thanks for sharing the plex idea. I really like it. The only issue I have is the low performing NAS in the basement. ;-)

I was thinking of doing a thread called "show me your electrical mess" but I thought I just might add some pictures here. I am sure we all apreciate that the cords from speakers, DVD/Blu-ray players, games consoles etc. are neatly hidden away. Though, I had a hard time hiding away over 50(!) different cords and devices behind the BeoVision 11. Turned out pretty from most viewing angles - though if you go behind, you see the true terror Stick out tongue  Have a look.

For those who care, here is what you see in random order: BeoLink NL/ML, Panasonic DMP-BBT01 Blu-Ray, Wii U, Xbox 360 S, Apple TV, freeview antenna, BeoCenter 2 socket unit (behind the easel stand), wifi router, IKEA LED backlights (lights up the back wall nicely during the evening) - and of course a HUGE load of cables!!

BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)

Thank you, Millemis. My girlfriend is anxious everytime she comes close to the BV11. As a result, I vacuum clean and dust off... well in that part of the flat that is Wink The NL/ML converter now runs perfectly thanks to you guys. The BC2 barely worked with my setup before - now it's a joy all over again Smile

Re rats nests of wiring...I am absolutely a legend among my guy friends for this. Back a few years when VCRs were still used, I had a VCR die and had to replace it. The power cord was so entangled in the huge knot of wires that instead of pulling it out, I actually opened the old VCR, unplugged the power cord from the PC board, opened the new VCR, unplugged it's cord from the PC board and replaced it with the old power cord, which was still inextricably entwined with the rats nest, and shoved the new VCR back in the old one's slot. Hah! Take that Gordian Knot! I felt like Alexander!

Geez, this thread sure has evolved from "show your B&O" at the beginning to "who has a room fit for a magazine". Poor 7k and Pentas LOL.

I love seeing the older equipment setups and how people mix and match as much as the designer spaces. Just me I guess.

Love it, Søren.  The lamps hanging from the ceiling are incredibly cool!

We have a used textbook store in the household among the many things we have going on here all the time, so this is probably the least attractive BL5 setup around, but I use them every day and they fill the whole place with sound.

Looks like furniture and overall room design has changed a little bit over the time.

I only own the new age stuff therefore no chance mixing anything right now ;-)

sadly I never took any. My setup then was a Proton TV, a Direct TV sat box, a VCR, a Pioneer Laser Disc player, a Fosgate surround processor, and a 5 channel Carver amp. Plus an NHT surround speaker setup, and an NHT sub with its outboard sub amp. All hooked up in the pre HDMI era. Lots of wires! All of this was jammed into one under the TV cabinet, a Scandinavian teak thing. Still have the cabinet.

Lots of beautiful rooms with lots of great equipment.  Every week or so I check in on this thread, mainly to get ideas.  Two thoughts from catching up today.

People still use VCRs.  Just like they still use record players, cassette decks, open reel recorders, etc.

I have never understood the obsession some people have about hiding power and patch cords.

and @ Playdry4me

I think cultures are different regarding this - and this is meant in a good way! I like to see how people from different parts of the world have different ways of living. Here in Scandinavia many like to have a minimalistic approach on furnituring. Bright rooms, bright colours and less couches/chairs/rugs. Cables are looked at as poisonous snakes infecting the picture (streching it here) Wink I like it this way. One might refer to it as something from a magazine but I guess many of us here like it this way Smile

LOL Yes Peter! I believe that particular printer (we have a few for different purposes) has been running on the same toner cartridge for the better part of 7 or 8 years.

I think it's time for some vintage pictures!

Fist up is a picture of my uncle in March 1969 - doing business in my Grandfather's office. He owned the restyled Beomaster 900k and had it fitted with a stereo decoder around '69. I can't identify the turntable, can you?

Then my Father's first complete B&O system which he bought while being apprentice as radio electrician at a B&O dealer - this is the source of my Beovirus. The original pictures were home-developed 9x13 cm, taken 1979-1980. Beomaster 3000-2, Beogram 4002 and a pair of Beovox 5700's. He sold the Beomaster 3000 to get a 4400, the Beogram 4002 in favour of a new 8002 and the 5700's to get a pair of Jamo CBR 1302's.

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

Also very nice pictures Soren.

Hard to believe that it is just over a year since I met you & your dad -- and your collections.

That means it must almost time for the Melbourne Scandinavian fair - and Sue can stock up some Danish specialities !

Was your uncle infected by your grandfather's Beovirus ?

Time flies, when will you come again for a visit? Wink

I haven't bought any new B&O since your visit (well, was given a Beolab 5000 for free) as downsizing has been a first priority.

Scandinavian fair - what events are taking place there?

My Uncle had a Beocenter 3500 I think, then bought a Beosystem 6000 when it came out with Jamo CBR 1302 speakers. I think he was more inspired by my Father; The three lads (my Father, his brother and my mother's brother) bought similar systems through the early 80's Smile

My Father replaced the 4400 with a Beomaster 6000 in the mid 90's because I played with the switchbank all the time!
