markiedee:

Bayerische tv looks lovely as does the rest of your setup, is it the full HD version bv9??

Yes, it's the last version of the BV9 with the camera that checks the screen. Yes - thumbs up

I have never understood the obsession some people have about hiding power and patch cords.

and @ Playdry4me

I think cultures are different regarding this - and this is meant in a good way! I like to see how people from different parts of the world have different ways of living. Here in Scandinavia many like to have a minimalistic approach on furnituring. Bright rooms, bright colours and less couches/chairs/rugs. Cables are looked at as poisonous snakes infecting the picture (streching it here) Wink I like it this way. One might refer to it as something from a magazine but I guess many of us here like it this way Smile

I agree. Less is more in scandinavia. Yes - thumbs up

Søren Hammer:
Then my Father's first complete B&O system which he bought while being apprentice as radio electrician at a B&O dealer - this is the source of my Beovirus

Also very nice pictures Soren.

Hard to believe that it is just over a year since I met you & your dad -- and your collections.

That means it must almost time for the Melbourne Scandinavian fair - and Sue can stock up some Danish specialities !

Was your uncle infected by your grandfather's Beovirus ?

Time flies, when will you come again for a visit? Wink

Let us hope it is next year !

Søren Hammer:

I haven't bought any new B&O since your visit (well, was given a Beolab 5000 for free) as downsizing has been a first priority.

Well as everyone knows (lol) we bought an A3 ... but nothing else although I have my eye on NL/ML converter, playmaker, H3 and H5 H6 (I don't know where I got H5 from!).

Søren Hammer:

Scandinavian fair - what events are taking place there?

Well we can buy supplies similar to what your mother treated us with; plus eat some dishes at the fair (meat balls et cetera); collect brochures of places to visit next year; and enter raffles for SAS tickets (sadly last year I did not win them ... but maybe this year ?)

Søren Hammer:

My Uncle had a Beocenter 3500 I think, then bought a Beosystem 6000 when it came out with Jamo CBR 1302 speakers. I think he was more inspired by my Father; The three lads (my Father, his brother and my mother's brother) bought similar systems through the early 80's Smile

My Father replaced the 4400 with a Beomaster 6000 in the mid 90's because I played with the switchbank all the time!

Good to keep the virus in the family ... I am hoping that the beosystem 5000 with CX100s will infect my grandson Smile

I was thinking of doing a thread called "show me your electrical mess" but I thought I just might add some pictures here. I am sure we all apreciate that the cords from speakers, DVD/Blu-ray players, games consoles etc. are neatly hidden away. Though, I had a hard time hiding away over 50(!) different cords and devices behind the BeoVision 11. Turned out pretty from most viewing angles - though if you go behind, you see the true terror Stick out tongue  Have a look.

For those who care, here is what you see in random order: BeoLink NL/ML, Panasonic DMP-BBT01 Blu-Ray, Wii U, Xbox 360 S, Apple TV, freeview antenna, BeoCenter 2 socket unit (behind the easel stand), wifi router, IKEA LED backlights (lights up the back wall nicely during the evening) - and of course a HUGE load of cables!!

That is a lot of equipment, in a very small space :-)

I also have a fobia for cables, even though I prefer them to wireless connections. I used to have a small cabinet beside the tv but wanted to free the space, and as I am to cheap to spend a lot of money on STBBrackets, I found an old cable canal and bought some 3D printed brackets for my devices.

Inside the canal is all the electrical connections as well as a RE*BL for the PS3. I just never got around to cutting the bottom plate the right size, as I can't see it unless I look from over the BV9.

The PS3 gets very hot and lets all the air inside the canal so I've been thinking about putting some fans in the upper part of the canal.

Finally remembered to snap a few shots of my setup. My speakers were packed away for almost three years and just recently got back up in our new home. So happy to have them back - the sound is just amazingly pleasant. My setup: white BM6500 and CD6500 with BG4500 record player and BL5000 speakers.

Thank you, elephant! And yes, the speakers are huge but thankfully very discreet. The day they came up my girlfriend was full of reservations but two of her girlfriends were here and just wouldn't stop praising their looks. Very convenient Big Smile

Henrik, very very nice job! I love the fact you used a 3D printed bracket too. Neat and tidy and as good or better than using someone elses solution.

As for the Beolab 5000s, always nice to see them. One of the nicest speakers of the period and IMO still far better looking than the Beolab 12's.

Beocentre 2600 came with a set of Beovox s45-2's I purchased, it had been used as a garage system and was quite rough. Initially I wasnt going to do any work on it, but a week with a bad cold and no projects soon had me repairing the deck, cleaning pots and a fair degree of work to clean up the metal trims and wooden trim. It looks quite smart now and has a nice sound.

I hope you didn't bin the S45 woofer with the dislodged woofer.  That can be fixed, as Lassi has proven.

Absolutely brilliant setup sir! I am also a BL5K fan for life.

I haven't heard mine in over a year now. That certainly needs to change. Right now I'm pursuing a very involving 'darkside' project that I feel will not beat my current benchmark - the BeoLab 5000. One of these days I will learn to quit this nonsense and just listen to my BL5Ks.

Agreed, that needs to change! I have a pair of CX100's which I used the past three years while my BL5K's were packed away. The CX100's are very good in their own right but getting the BL5K's up again has made me appreciate them even more than I did before Smile

Absolutely no intention of scrapping the woofer :)

Its dismantled and sitting in pieces, I need to find a suitable 'tool' to use to shim when I put the magnet back on to the basket, ive tried (without glue) with plastic and picture wire cut into shims but they are either too thick or thin, just need to get a vice and some time to put it back together :)

The BC2600 is nice, its currently paired to my BG4002 and the S45-2's. I dont like the BC2600 it quite as much as my BM1900 though, so it will most likely sit as "backup B&O" along with the spare BM1900 and BG6000 :)

Here is my BC2300 DAB, rescued from a barn, covered in spiderweb and dust. The CD Player wasn't working otherwise it was just in need of a good cleaning.

Changed the laser and then it was working again :)

Unfortunatelly the DAB box is missing, but the Apple Newton was present, it needed cleaning in the battery box and new batteries, but then it also worked again...

It should be able to work with a normal Beolink 1000 remote, but I cannot get it working.. it is responding to the Option programming by blinking the red light, so the IR is working. Talked with the guy who actually build the BC2300 DAB back in the days, but he cannot remember which option it should be in, all he remembers is "that something strange was decided" :)

That's one hell of  collectors item...!! Congrats.

Still remember my walk through some dungeon in Struer.. a lot of discarded concepts :-) Something that looked like a widescreen BV1; strange speakers... :-) And a lot of compeditor TVs.. ripped open...

Very nice indeed right? No more white! Now on to the second ownership of this Beosystem 6500 me. The Attyca I came from elsewhere and system from Copenhagen where it was bought new around 1991. Dillen has off course gone through all of of it that he could as 20 years does takes its told on beautiful systems like these. Cable mess is not present when using the Attyca I stand. The Beovox S120 are in front and so is the net power so they are currently the only visible wires. I now just have to get some hinges for the MCP and the original B&O MMC2 stylus retipped by Axel in Germany otherwise is time for enjoying this.

The Newton is the remote for the BC2300, it displays the information from the BC2300 in "two-way". It is wired to the BC2300 via a loooong cable, so it is possible to be "away" from the BC and still operate it :)

Unfortunatelly I cannot get the ordinary BL1000 to operate it, though it should be possible...

My first ever 'new' B&O equipment - bought yesterday as I wanted to take advantage of the current 30% discount that Danish B&O shops are offering on the final few BL4000s!  I also wanted a Mk 1 Playmaker as all my music is FLAC.

I have yet to decide where to set it up permanently but am moving house later in the year hence it may go back in the boxes for a while!

Looking at it, I'm not sure it would have sold in this configuration. Big Smile
