Never thought of that but you're right, bad design and pain for pleasure Philippe Starck

My new beautiful -and pretty useless- setup. I wonder how wonderful it would be if it worked...

Hello, I am new here. What a wonderful thread this is !!!
Please don't stop this thread, keep it alive so we could learn more sound tricks from B&O addicts : how they solve the sound obstacle in a corner, how they cover the adjacent kitchen with good treble and woofers, how their Beosound react to glass walls, how the sound travels through the floors in an open design, etc.
We should have a local "Club" which organizes members' home visit ... I should start a new thread on this.
Winks from Montreal. Enjoy.
Positioning the new tall remote stand kindly supplied by Leslie....
we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
Two BeoLink 7000 in the same room - very nice indeed :)
My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....
Great interior Mark! Don't you get any conflicts using 2 Beolinks in one room and does 2-way coms works with your BS6500 system. I don't see volume on your display..
Old Skool:
well spotted Leslie, yes I have also lost the clock & date function on both remotes
That is seriously nice John, I do like the way you have used the poster in-between the speakers
Mark: That is seriously nice John, I do like the way you have used the poster in-between the speakers
Thanks Mark. In an ideal world I would have had them further apart, but this was the only practical wall space and the small, thin poster seemed the right choice :)
My gear:
- B&O Beolab 1- B&O Beolab 2- B&O Beolab 8000- B&O Beocenter 2300
Beautiful set up, this combination of i think it's beolab/beomaster 5000 is my favourite and my long term aim to acquire, looks absolutely awesome
j0hnbarker: Old Skool:
Never thought of this combination (and the poster). Great looking! How do these Beovox 5000 sound on your classic Beolab 5000?

I have these remotes as well. Must be a cap problem not having 2-way functionality. Will start this excersise again to get this 2-way back to life.
Leslie, Have now listened to the record. with the B&O equipment on the coverIts very much music fitting the time.It sounds like some kind of combination between James Last orchestra and the choirs of Ray Conniff.Maybe not as intricate musical arrangement James Last could do.Some might say, "corny" music
My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.
Nice

They sound really good Leslie. Volume-wise, I don't go too high as it's my bedroom, but the Beovox are mounted on cavity walls and there is a nice bass effect from the speakers that sounds great. There is quite a lot of power available from a relatively small set up, which is perfect for a smaller room.
I tried my BV Pentas with the Beolab 5000, but prefer the BV 5000s :)

You could of course get a bit more (0.4-0.5 m?) audible separation by just swapping them around. But I think they look better the way they are now - a very pretty setup!
I'd have mine closer together if I were reinstalling them now. The speaker centers are 3 meters apart and the listening position is 3 meters away. Fine for music, but not for the TV that is between the speakers; it sounds exactly like playing from two separate speakers around the TV.
These are actually quite difficult speakers to place properly. I have to admit that when I was looking for the new flat, one of the major things I always considered was where I would be installing the BL5000s!

Hi John, tomorrow both my Beolabs and master 5000 will be finished and will connect Beovox 5000 flatpanels or M150's. Two weeks holiday so lots of things to do on my B&O stuff. I will post Lots Of Pictures :-)

Not sure which album you mean Christian.
Corny music? So what? As long as you love this kind of music that's okay, right? Cheers my friend.
Double posted
Leslie: Super! If you find another one sell it to me....

This album Leslie. See your post from 23 nov
Thought so, any others you have which I don't have?
That looks absolutely amazing!!
You just had me go scouring the internets for a nice set of Beolab/Beomaster 5000
And I thought the bug had off a bit
:D

Simonbeo: Here's one for the Saab fans!
Simon,
Believe it or not I have an almost identical Saab (different colour steering wheel) parked underneath my BV11 as I write!
I'll post a picture when not on the iPad.
Graham
What a coincidence.
Saab is usually parked under the Century which has been on the dining room wall since 1999 . The car was a present to our daughter on her first birthday ten years ago. How time flies!
okey, flash seldom, but actually my first tangentiall BG came into my apartment.BG3500 with a RIAA amp.Actually I dont miss RIAA amps in my life, but, it was a very good BG in fantastic condition, avaliable in my region, so I could transport it home myself. I didnt pay cheap, but damn worth it once I started to play my records inner tracks....how could I have missed this some 40 years later...On the other side, it will a interesting journey to re-build the RIAA amp.Wonder if it is worth to exchange the 4558 amps, some people say you cant hear difference exchanging them....
Looks good Christian, shiny platter!
yup, its pure mint condition, you have to go down centimeters from the plexi with your eyys in only certain angles to really look for, identidy small scratches, its like new.
The job, was just some wet toilet paper removing dust from the folded plastic parts iontop in the back,, some window cleaner on the plexi, Martins tip of a bit salavia here and there on the platter, and it just shined, just like it came out of the box.
... I really like your setup...beautiful credenza.. It made me realize that these beovox are probably what I need to complete my setup:
There is really 2 beocords on this photo: a beomaster 2400 is usually in the middle but I've put it temporarily in the living room for new years eve to replace my tired beomaster 8000. Aesthetically, this setup looks much better than with the 2400. So a beomaster 6000 (not quad) would make a nice looking system. The best part: the beocord 5000 works fine!
This are some pics of my new setup. Changed my bv3 for a panasonic 50VT50 controlled trough a lintronic box and added a BL11 and wall brackets for the 6000's .
In the bedroom i recently changed my avant for a BV7.
and added some 4000's as computer speakers
Nice set-up so serene.
Very very nice.
Beoplay A2
Replaced my Samsung 32" LCD with a Panasonic TX-P42ST60 42" Plasma in the bedroom. In the top left corner you can see one of the two Beolab 4000s which are connected to the TV through a Beolink Active kit. On the floor you can see one of my LC2s.
Thank you!
The lintronic box is behind the beosound. From this position the panasonic plasma picks up the signals very well.
And all the wiring is hidden in the wall. Because these are concrete walls there was a lot of time involved to hide al the cables but i'm very happy with the result.
I also placed a lot of spare masterlink, powerlink and network cables to the television so that everything is prepared if i want to go back to a beovision in the future.. For now i am really happy with the picture from the panasonic..
And where is the BeoSound?
You wrote that (the sound from) the Pana is connected through a BeoLink Active.
Are both in the same room?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
