Hi Rivenflush, how are the 4000's connected to the the Panasonic plasma? You mentioned the Beolink Active kit but how would this connect to the TV

Thanks

The 'usual way' to do this is to connect the (analog) sound-out to the 'PC-in' of the BL Active kit.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Yes, as MM writes, I have the TV connected from the headphone jacket to the PC input on the Beolink. Then I have a macro on my Beo5 that starts the TV and PC input simultaneously and all buttons have been setup so that volume etc. is B&O commands and arrows, channels etc. are Panasonic commands so that they are fully integrated. Works like a charm and the sound is fantastic.

The Beolink is connected to a Beosound 2300 in the living room.

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

Played my Century today connected via my iPod 5th Generation Classic (has Apple gone backwards) and now scratching my head as I am sure it sounds better than my B&W Zeppelin and if so means it will live in the dinning room until my 9300 purchase.

This now leaves a gap on the 1st floor of my house as the Century replaced the BeoSound 1 which found its way to the bedroom on the top floor ......

ahhhh this addiction.

Hi everyone

I have been working on sorting out my spare room/B&O room since moving house a few months ago.

Living in an apartment brings its compromises, this room doubles as a guest bedroom (fold out sofa bed) and a place for me to set up my analog audio gear. Its 3m x 2.8m so quite small.

So far this setup is a Beomaster 1900, Beovox S75 (recently restored), a Beogram 6000 Quad, a Beogram 4002 and an airport express. The cabinet is an Ikea Expedit which has been reconfigured to accomodate the turntables and reinforced to carry the load of the S75. I have stands for all my Beovox but not enough room to use them.

What I love about B&O tables is that these big speakers can sit on top of the cabinet and generate lovely bass, and yet I dont hear anything coming back through the stylus, the isolation in B&O decks is second to none.

There is a Beocenter 2600 and 2x pairs of S45-2 hidden in the cupboard which dont get used much as I prefer the S75 to the S45-2 (for the moment).

Andrew,

How did you reconfigure the expedit to make room for the beograms?  I have nearly the same set-up - Beomaster 2400, s75's, and a Beogram 4004.

Thanks guys,

My project is still evolving, as I am not finished yet with the home furnishing of my appartment.

Next will be a "tableau vegetale" (in french), table lamp and floor lamp from Ingo Maurer, coffee table and La Chaise by Eames for VITRA. One to two years to wait.....

Hi everyone,
For those asking how to reconfigure the Expedit from Ikea, here are the instructions.

Have someone help you doing this so you dont hurt yourself, etc.

Lay the cabinet on its side so its 2 cubes high and 4 cubes wide.

Remove the 4 long bolts from one end of the cabinet.

Remove the two top bolts from the other end.

Remove the top panel of the cabinet and then the panel from which you removed all 4 bolts.

Reconfigure the unit as per the picture below, basically you use two of the long shelves horizontally (this is where my two turntables sit) and one long shelf vertically in the middle I have numbered the three shelves in red below. Use dowels between shelf 1 and 2 which run through shelf 3 (the vertical shelf). Obviously put dowel between shelves 1 and 2 and the ends of the cabinet as you would usually do.

You then use two of the small shelves in the middle to support the two horizontal long shelves (see the blue lines below). You will need to cut 2 pieces of the dowel in half so that you can push them through the long shelves (1 and 2) into the short shelves (blue) underneath to hold them in place.

I also put the two extra small shelves underneath (they are not held in place by dowels but will provide support none the less) next to the two held in place by dowels to provide additional support to the long horizontal shelves. (see the extra blue lines below)

I used to have S45.2 on top of the cabinet, when I went to the S75 I put a L bracket on the top corners at the back of the cabinet to offer a bit more bracing to ensure the cabinet held together and I installed the small cupboard to hide all the ugly power boards, etc.

Hope this helps anyone.

Drew

Latest collect.

A 7002, with S50 and furniture all in same vener, all in great cosmetic condition
Playes nicely directly after unload from car.

Played the lead track Desanifado of the classic record Jazz Samba  Stan Getz and Charlie bid,
First the the double bass and cabasa beginning in left channel, then when the rest of the band kicks in, i big warm detailed stereo perspective comes out of the system. A classic warm and smooth B&O sound that I love.

Its sooo sweet, and I have a particular eye for the centers

As usal no remote....

I have 7 issues with it, which I am looking forward to do, and a couple of the issues I will need some help with, issues I have read people dealt with here.

Still have lots of work the the mountain of BM900s, but this set will be next project when I am ready with the BM900s

My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.

Saturday, I came to Holland to see my friend Leslie to eat cheese, discuss about B&O, work on some BC 9500 ;) and... , I came back frome his B&O museum with some wonderfull stuffs to complete my setup (BC9500, pentas and S45). As you see, I complete it with a "more than mint" BG 4002 that sound wonderfull and a lovely beomaster700 (not usefull but beutiful and sound good, I already love hearing radio with it ;))! On top of the BM 700 you can see a surprise gift Leslie gave me (but I will do another thread).

Love B&O even more now ;) thanks Leslie and thanks beoworders ;)

Looks great. The V1 is a return to the understatement of the B&O tvs that got me liking the brand . Here's an update on our Beocenter 6 installation upstairs. This set up is totally unconnected unlike the V1 downstairs ; just DVD and radio.

Here is my setup on display!

After searching for the right Cabinet for a while, I settled with this nice old MC30 cabinet to display my 5500 system. The HDR2 is not connected, since that does not work with my LX6000. Next on the (long-term) wish list are Penta's to replace the Redline 35 + 60.2 that are in the main room, and a BV10-40 to replace the LX6000.

Beosound 5 Encore + Beosystem 5500 + S45.2; BV7-40 MKV + BL7.1 + BL14.4+ AppleTV4; various link rooms with MCL2 A or MCL2 A/V + RL60.2 / CX100 / CX50 & Cona  / IWS2000; BG4000; Beosystem 1200 + BV1600.
