Now give her a pair of BL90s.

Go on; you know she'll love them.

Thank you!

It will be difficult to explain to her why I sold the house.

I would still love to know what the M moniker means :-)

No B&O to report at this end...

My Xmas present to myself is a new living room renovation, which will be home to an 11-55 with beolab 12 and a few other B&O gems.

My my wife gave me 3 canvases to hang on the wall, using my pictures I uploaded to instagram over the years.

I ordered a B&O Beocord 8000 and a Beovex CX50 speakers in white. For nowI'll be using them with my Rotel RA-400 amplifier, but will eventually get a B&O one in the new year. Something small that doesn't take much much space.

Merry Christmas

Ryan

I am sure, that the guys in Struer won't take that as a christmas gift - they are still rather confidential!

We have equipped three rooms with Amazon Echo - sorry but this makes all other remote control redundant - no screen, no buttons - I just get what I want immediately. The radio station I want, the track I want and the information I want. Complete convert.I can switch lights on and off - I can work the TV - apparently I can even set the bath to run. And all by voice control with no remote. I did say that this was what i wanted 5 years ago at Struer and was told that it wouldn't work. It does.

Not connected to any B&O at present though will do but less convinced about the new equipment - happy to be shown I am wrong in time though. Beolab 5000 system still the bees knees though!

My son is staying with us and he brought his Google Home with him ... and it beats Siri on convenience and responding with voice rather than text.

I'd like to try the Echo based on your findings and this article ...

I got my wife an Echo as a present earlier this year, and an Echo Dot more recently. We've got our lights and some other stuff "hooked up" and we are smitten. In the kitchen the voice timers function alone is worth the echo. Multiple concurrent timers and recipe help. I know we're only scratching the surface of what is possible. With something less pricy than a BLGW can connect her to B&O, heck multiform already has hooks into home networks, how about adding Echo support via a software upgrade to all B&O devices, even for only small functionality?

It is, however, hilarious to find that sometimes "Alexa" hears her name when it is not said. One time my wife and I were watching television and someone's sneeze, activated our Living Room Echo Dot. Another time, someone who said the word "seriously?" loudly activated Alexa.

Finally, it is quite amusing when I hear my wife raise her voice at Alexa when she doesn't respond to a particular command on the first try! LOL

I tried checking the price of Alexa in AU.

Seems Amazon won't ship her here as they haven't announced it here.

Even if by nefarious means you get a UK Alexa she still won't work as you need a VPN.

And then you need Amazon Prime I believe.

Sheeesh !

Without compromising the confidentiality can you reveal your thoughts about the sound, your general impression, and if it still has some of B&O’s magic?

Yann, how very stylish all of the equipment looks.  Like you, I also have the BS1 on a similar black glass coffee table.

I hope you are able to get the Deezer / TuneIn working as per your previous post. Shout out if you need help.

Happy listening

 Hello

Thank you for your comments,

I cannot tell you a lot about this lamp, as it's a Xmas gift I received some years ago.

I added a Philips Hue bulb, so it's a part of a colour lighting system.

Here is a picture of the lamp when turned off, it's dark grey steel colour..

Kind regards,

Yann.

@Yann & AussieMichael: thanks for the feedback, every input for a living more beautiful is welcome! i came around at lamps from Henry Mathieu while googling your input.

@Benoit: i don't dare to tell more than the infos posted in the other thread except for that: i ordered one this morning and are supposed to get it around the 10th january. it'll fit much better my desires on the window sill in my little kitchen than the BeoSound1 would do

Thank you for your reply. I think I'll take the risk to wait (even if in the meantime there is a price increase on BS2) and see how the M5 looks and if it has a real B&O 'touch' (the sound, I'm sure, will be excellent). Maybe I'll have a good surprise and like the design very much as I like as well the A6 (but too big). And maybe it will be more appropriate as it will sit in a corner where my A1 sits now.

Well done BeoIce !

I had had a plan to present my daughter-in-law with one the new beosounds as a Christmas / house-warming present but:

1/ their move in was delayed until the week before

2/ everything is unsettled / still half unpacked

3/ I have not seen / heard the BS2

4/ she has had no time to go window shopping with me

And no B&O present to myself from me ... Joe from others, but I did get this as a combined gift ...

( so this is posted as #design #music )

... slow reveal to the music of 2001 ...

... and a close up with what was I think my first Apple product ... with its engraved rear
