While the form factor of the LG's and the new B&O screens is interesting, I'm increasingly thinking what a shame it is that the video processing won't likely be as good as the Sony (is even the Panasonic) high end panels....

The A1 reviews (and last years ZD9) remind me of how much top quality processing can make a difference......when I spent some time with the ZD9 last year, the upscaling was a good deal better than the LG E6......anyway, OLED screens will still be very welcome from B&O....

B&O could supply their own picture processing algorithms or even the source code to LG in order to have them implemented in the future TVs.

There is a good reason I am not a designer

I lack the "out of the box" imagination gene [:\'(]

So I look at the LG that I took pictures of and I can't imagine a design

I am sure the creative geniuses of B&O can !

My wife's complaint of the LG was (a) it can only go on the wall and (b) when switched off it's a Black Hole in the wall space ...

I can imagine B&O covering that Black Hole with slatted wood that would match the BeoLab 18s ... a curtain effect ?

Or maybe the screen moves ? If flexible could it roll up ? Imagine what B&O movement engineering might do !

Who knows, but not sure it matters in the end.......they'll struggle to match what Sony seem to be have done with their high end TVs, with the Extreme X1 processor chipset.....i suspect in the end it doesn't matter, i'm guessing many customers will be glad to have a B&O TV available with the latest specs (OLED +HDR)......i was only observing that, from my experience looking at the LG E6 and the SONY ZD9, the SONY did a much better job upscaling HD content ( didn't spend enough time to compare its motion capabilities)...and the A1 shares the same high end video processing..........

Good afternoon,

Was the release date of the new TVs disclosed at the dealer's conference last week ?

Last week a dealer told me there will be a B&O oled available early 2018. Most probably presented fall 2017. The programmers are extremely busy with the new shape sound system hence no resources for a new TV. Will be a very new design with a full glass front, speakers behind, large display, 65 at least. Pricing area 10,000$. The new one will come at the expense of the avant model. It will disappear. Beovision 14 will stay. Although he was quite firm in his description he said officially it is still speculation (like with the new iPhone).

I also heard that they will be large screens, with those wanting less than 65 having to choose one of the LCD models

A little sad to see that the original crt avant is class leading in its hey day but not the current one, going out in a bit of a whimperSurprise

55 inch is a very popular size. Definitely the most common size that I've seen in tv showrooms recently. I would be very surprised if the new TVs didn't start at 55.

I was told that dealers get to see the OLED B&O TVs this May - did that not happen? If not, there's no way they can speculate on the design. Sorry, it's just speculation if they are claiming they know what it looks like!

The meeting was last week. Whether they can say anything yet I not is another matter I guess.

given they have just come back, i doubt many will reveal much just yet........that said, i was led to believe a while ago that the sizes would start quite big (65), and also not to expect anything for quite a while.......the timing bit makes sense to me, especially given the recent software issues etc ......

From my little birdy and is cousin the sheep of Struer, the new Oled should come in 55" and 65" (like the LOEWE LG based oled).

It has to, 65" is too big for me.

Remember the Beocenter AV5 ? The new speaker system should look like that.

A lot of glass, two motorised speakers on both sides. Now it's getting interesting !

Your 'little birdy and is cousin sheep' might have been peeping through the windows of the Yard there, then ;-)

I was a big fan of the AV5 so great news for the upcoming OLED if it is similar. 55" is the maximum size screen I could have in my new property too. My BV9 has now gone, replaced with a 43" Sony (4K/HDR) as an interim set for the next couple of years while I completely renovate the house making it B&O ready for what I hope, will be a good choice of linked products available to buy and install a couple of years from now.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

My little bird, who was at the dealer meeting, didn't of course reveal too much, but said it will be unveiled in the fall.

55" & 65"

55" priced a bit above Avant 55.

If there were any concerns expressed, they were about software: with the OLED, B&O will introduce yet another software platform to their mix: WebOS.

So they'll have their newer legacy software (from BV11, Avant 1st Gen), Android (BV14, Horizon, Avant NG) and WebOS (the new OLED with LG).

I'm very interested, as the WebOS on my LG OLED has been problem-free. How the platform works in terms of integration with other B&O TVs, that remains to be seen.

KMA

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.

We will probably see it all together in the fall - the new BV, the BL50 and the BS Shapes (with the BS Core inside).

You'd better start saving...

Not only that.

Will we see yet another version of the BeoRemote One - a BeoRemote Two, maybe?

Maybe the new tv's come voicecontrolled?

And 'back lit keys' wouldn't be sufficient for finding your drinks, anyway.

WebOS sounds promising for the OLED TVs. I would prefer it over the Android TV platform! Looking forward to the fall when they reveal the new OLED TVs. Smile

Would you really think, that B&O should sacrifice the usual elegant/sophisticated placement options for the sake of someone wanting to have a piece of glass on the wall and a bulky speakers/electronics bar underneath.

I expect that the new BV will be a 'piece of art' and that it will surprice me - just like previous BV's have done....

....and to be more than a black hole in the wall, when it is off.

Hope that the new BV OLED set will be backward compatible with the prevoius B&O devices / ML system (BL5 , BV5, BS9000 etc), so that it can act as a new B&O master system. With an expected timeless B&O design for the new OLED TV, this will be a perfect BV-upgrade for the one of us that still want to keep our existing, timeless BL and BS devices!

BV Eclipse 65, BV5, BS Core, BL5, BL8000, BS9000, Beolit 12, A1, A2, P2, H8, H9i, H7, E8

Nice find ! But it seems that the Eclipse range is not the tv itself but the accessories (loudspeakers for flat screen, stand with loudspeaker, remote...).

So the range would be Horizon and Eclipse. That makes sense as a theme.
