BeoGreg:Sorry for my misunderstanding. Apparatus means "appareil" in french so should include the tv sets also not only accessories !
I don't think you have misunderstood the descriptions which are intentionally vague. Accessories could allude to different configurations of the TV such as wall mounted, on a stand, or on a shelf. I am planning on a wall mounted system. I will only need the center speaker and will use my Beolab 9s.
Bang and Olufsen was mentioned in the presentation of Google assistant. It sounds like we will be able to chat with Beoplay devices,Beosound Shape and probably the TVs. It is possible the new Beovision will be Android based instead of WebOS. Any other ideas?

AngloApulian:All the media reports I've read so far have mentioned that the partnership with LG for the OLED panels also include the new OLED TVs using the WebOS platform and I hope that is the case. Android TV has proved to be buggy, unreliable and in some instances insecure. I'd take WebOS over Android TV any day.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
Hiort:The intel I have (from LG) is that for sure it will be WebOS.
AngloApulian. I agree. I don't like any Google products. I hope B&O uses WebOS. However it seems that B&O is going to use Google Assistant in many of their other products including Beosound Shape. My preference for using the new Beovisions is the option to operate in a sort of standard mode. I am already using AppleTV and cable and don't want anything else. I also hope the NLML converter will work with the new TV in order to connect my ML devices.
BeoCenter AV5 -1997 - 2001. In Widescreen. = BeoVision Eclipse. There would be room for everything in that box. But you never know where ugly it can be if B&O also leaves LC about the design.Regards / Peter Pan.

BeoNut since '75
Beovision 11-55, BeoPlay V1 40, Beosound 9000, Beolab 8000's and 3 Beocom 5's...
Spoke with my dealer on Friday about the new B&O OLED 65" and he said it's going to be £12K (dealers saw it this month).
Interestingly though, he didn't sound too impressed. In fact, he said he'd prefer my BV12-65. He didn't elaborate, but I think he was suggesting that the BV12-65 as a "proper" B&O TV whereas the new OLED is, well, less so.
12K is pricey......surely a Sony ZD9 at 3.5-4K makes more sense in that case....anyway, like you i still see absolutely no need to change my 12-65, and i say that even having spent quite a bit of time with the E6 (the ZD9 was more impressive, better video processing, SDR material with the E6 didn't look all that, especially compared to the ZD9).........12K..guess shouldn't be too surprised........that'll make the 55inch (?) around 8/9K.......hmmm
(If that is true), it is about the same, that (some) people paid for a BV7-55 7 years ago.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV

vlohjr1:Would it be better now for bo to produce a new beo system 4 only then and stop tv manufacture altogether?
What would you need a BS4, for, exactly? And how much would it cost? Are you suggesting someone connect a BS4 to an LG OLED? If so, what's the benefit to the user?

The ability to integrate your audio and multiroom stuff, just like with a Beovision, without the extra expense of paying B&O markup for the panel, and the ability to swap panels without sacrificing all your B&O audio setup functionality whenever new panel tech comes out or you want to upsize. I have long thought that, while I understand B&O wanting to be able to hawk a panel with their interconnectivity in it, for flexibility a Beosystem that you can swap panels on made more sense.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

I think you misunderstand. I know *what* it does, what I'm saying is: what's the point. We set up a thread by saying that B&O is on a "downward spiral" and people are suggesting they ditch TVs and replace it with an expensive (seriously - the BS4 isn't cheap) box to control other B&O devices.
My point is, how limited is *that* audience? I'd probably count on one hand how many individual BS4 boxes a dealer sells to customers. There are simply not enough people out there demanding "just a an expensive control box".
Sometimes I don't think people think through business logic and their proposals. You're suggesting an average person on the street goes out and buys a 'cheap' £2000 TV and then spends the same amount again on a 'control' box, simply to connect to other B&O devices they don't own? And that's enough to sustain a store business?
vlohjr1: too tired to explain all this today!
too tired to explain all this today!
Clearly, as I was too dim to understand what it does (even though I own a BS4). Logic. People just don't see business logic.
What these guys want is a cheap NL-capable multichannel processor with PL (or line) outputs and a HDMI connection with ARC and (at least) 2.1/HDCP2.2 support - and a code converter for any tv in order to be able to use a B&O remote exclusively
Have I forgotten something?

Precisely. I'd pay good money for a super 'beosound core' or a proper music player that has say, HDMI ARC inputs to use with b&o loudspeakers. From a dealer point of view it's not such an easy sell for b&o loudspeakers (I'd imagine) without the whole b&o set up. A Moment with just one HDMI or Toslink input would basically answer this use-case / need. Customer wants BL18 to connect to his 75" non-b&o set for example. Would be so simple to have "..buy box xyz, does it all and work for you" but such a thing doesn't really exist. Well you have only few idiosyncratic options.
I suppose b&o don't want to touch working with 'other' systems, so they pull an Apple - and I say this as an 90s Apple user.

I agree with you if B&O was up to date with the actual (or soon to be released) technology... But they are most of the time late and technology goes faster and faster...
My BeoSound 2 is only Bluetooth 4.1 when some BeoPlay speakers are already 4.2 (like the older S3) and 5.0 is coming soon. I'll not be able to have the latest improvements... And what if Apple or Google change Airplay or Chromecast standards? Or maybe the actual range is not made anymore to last? :-(

Wel, Aphrodite might cause something to rise...
We should remember, that we are discussing the coming new BV...
....of which we know very little - not even the actual price(s).
A tv, that hardly anyone has seen or heard - apart from a few people, who aren't able to tell us anything.
Good discussions, but as so often we tend to drift off into wishes, which by definition are very diverse.
I'd prefer to wait for the actual launch to see if it fits into 'my world'.
oh absolutely......my best guess is that it will be fairly well received at the very least......its OLED (full OLED spec most likely), will have B&O's audio and connectivity options, and won't be Android ( i assume).....that should be enough for most, cost issues notwithstanding........
Android is dead on b & o tvs,it will be lg's own system. The Bv 14 and horizon will be updated in time.
I certainly hope, that you are right ;-)
retro-actively? i'd believe it when i see it, not before.....
Bv7Mk3: Android is dead on b & o tvs,it will be lg's own system. The Bv 14 and horizon will be updated in time.
I would be very surprised if this is possible... It's firmware! If I'm not mistaken... there's specific hardware needed for the Android TV
Karel.

Maybe Bv7Mk3 means, that they are going to use the 'design' of these two tv's further on with updated (LG) hardware (and therefore also LG's WebOS)?
Might be possible - but like Sandyb, I would like to see that, before I believe it.
MM..stuff is in the pipeline.....and the Oled rocks I have been told . It's a case of wait and see......
Oh! But for how long must we wait to see? ;-)
Possible announcement on IFA 2017?
That would be a huge tv ;-(
Sandyb:While I wasn't expecting a BS5 to be released, from what I have bee told, one is in the works...but again, I was surprised to hear that...
Why should a coming BV have 'video-out'?
Hardly anyone would need a cinema solution, when having a 65-75" tv in the same room.
A BSys5/AudioSystem however, would not be bad - but only if it would support Dolby Atmos and co.
Although I must admit, that I am not sure that there would be enough people, who want to pay the prize, they probably will charge for it.

I don't see why you always argue so strongly against a new BeoSystem. We all have different needs. I respect that for you an all-in-one tv suits your needs. However, it's nice to have options in the B&O product portfolio.
I once saw in a documentary that Charles Spencer has a BeoVision 7 on a motorized floor stand in a library at Althorp House. That TV looks perfect in that room when most TVs would have looked horrible. For me, I like the idea of having a sensibly-sized TV with the option of using the CINEMA function to trigger a hidden screen for when I want a larger screen for a more cinematic experience. I also like being able to hide away the AV processor and all cables in a cabinet. I find a prince point of $5,000 to $7,000 to be quite reasonable for a BeoSystem. Again, it's just nice to have these options in the product portfolio.
