jvezina:

A first "semi-official" announcement of the Beovision Eclipse:

This is terrible. Just an awful fan mockup of nothing to get people to watch an ad before the "news".

Well, moxxey - I totally agree with you this time ;-)

MM sry for questioning again but do you have any news if there will be an update (maybe with a new LG panel or even HDR) for the BV 14 in the next 1-2 months?

Agreed!

A  Google search for Beovision Eclipse returns now a lot of sites that merely repeat the news published in flatpanelshd.

In the discussion thread (in Danish) in flatpanelshd about the Beovision Eclipse, it is mentioned that the Beolab 50 could be presented as well.

It's not good, since we actually don't know much.

News based on rumours aren't exactly what we should be aiming for.

----

And no, we don't know, if there will be an OLED-BV14.

Who knows maybe next year a new type of bv 14? The Avant could be a bie,bie as the oled takes over....

Tick tock we shall know soon enough!

I have heard from a reliable source today that the speaker of the BV Eclipse will

  • be mounted only a few millimeters underneath the panel so you hardly will see the space between speaker and panel and of course you won't see the cable from speaker to the panel

  • have a more similar design as the Beolab 7-1/2/6 (which front was aluminum) than the speaker of the Beocenter AV5 (which had a fabric speaker front)

  • be a bit larger on both sides than the panel (similar to the Beolab 7-1/2/6 and the speaker of the Beocenter AV5)

  • come as a set with the TV panel so it will not be possible to change the speaker (which was possible with Beolab 7-1/2/6 and Beolab 7-4)

The design of the Beovison Eclipse with speaker will be somehow "between" the current Beovision Avant and the old Beocenter AV5 but slightly more like the current Beovision Avant ;-)

Great - and if a center in addition to the l/r speakers (like on the Avant) is built in too, it would be 'perfect'.

Can the screen be upgraded in future?

According to the few informations I got I'm quite sure that it will not be possible to upgrade (change) the screen separately in the future.

So it seems that upgrades in the future will be software updates only.

A few months back, we have been told that we'll have a surprise coming out of Struer and not a Chinese or Czech factory.

Could it be the Beovision Eclipse ?

So is it basically this, but with a B&O sound bar base?

https://www.avforums.com/review/lg-g7-65g7-oled65g7v-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-oled-tv-review.13753

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Every B&O surprice comes out of Struer....but is assempled in China/South Korea or in the Czech Tymphany factory.

Another very positive review for LG:

So it seems that B&O has selected the right partner.

Well done Lucky Goldstar!

I often wonder how many people know that's the name they first started out with....
