Happy New Year to you all.

My BeoMusic app (Essence mk. 1) is not working on my devices with iOS 10, but on my old iPad with iOS 9 it is working without any problems.

Does any of you experience the same ?

Do you have both 2.x ghz and 5.0 ghz networks active in your home ? I presume the Essence mk I is on the slower network. The App searches for only the network its phone is on.

Hi Martin,

it may be worth explaining what do you mean by "is not working"...

Elephant,

How do you know on which network it is?

[EDIT] : it is written in the BeoTool app...

My devices are on the 2,4 GHz network, so that is not the problem.

When I start the BeoMusic app, it can find the Essence, but when I swipe up to be able to choose between Tunein and my own music, the app is just searching after sources without any result. If I press Play, the latest Tunein radiostation starts to play, and I can change between my preselected station by swiping left or right, but I can't open up, so I can see my presets or choose new stations or own music files.

The problem exists on my iPhone 6 and on 2 iPads (air and Pro), but on an old iPad 2 and 1 iPhone 4S, both with iOS 9, the app is working with both Tunein and my own music including album covers.

Elephant,

How do you know on witch network it is?

In my case I configure my Mark II to use the 5GHz network - and depending upon how I approach my home my iPhone latches on to the 5GHz and plays Smile ... or latches on to the 2.4GHz and can't find the Essence Sad and I have fiddle with my Settings Angry

I am considering simply disabling the 2.4 Devil

I know you have got a Mark I whereas I have a Mark II.

However I can't see any usage differences between these devices:

iPhone 7 iOS 10.2

iPhone 5S iOS 10.1.1

iPad Mini 1st generation iOS 9.3.5

Interestingly (and thank you!) in doing these tests I can now see the Essence from both the 5.0 and 2.4 networks !

Here is screen sequence I get when I follow your UI sequence

I hope that helps somehow

I just tried to install the BeoMusic app on a device with iOS 10.1.1., and it works without any problems, so it seems like it is only 10.2 that has a problem.

This is how it looks like, when the app "freezes". The "update" wheel just spins around, but no nothing happens, and no products are found.

Just a thought, when this has happened to you, have you tried force-quitting the app (Double clicking the Home button and then swiping UP so that you quit BeoMusic) and then re-launching Beomusic? This has fixed any idiosyncratic problems I've had crop up with BeoMusic. There's also clearing the Product cache, but turning that On in the iPhone Settings: General > Settings > BeoMusic > ON: Clear Product Cache. Hope this helps! Also, congrats on the brass BL18s! Post a picture when you can, we'd love to see them!

Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them solved the issue.

My screen shots were from my iOS 10.2 device so it does work.

The searching behaviour I used to get (and then fix by flipping wifi spectrum as described before) but I always had an error message saying nothing could be found, then a countdown, and then a retry.

If you are not seeing the messages I would delete the App and reinstall thus force a full download of the latest version.

It does work with 10.2 on a Essence mark II,but apparently not a mark 1.

Is there anybody who has a Essence mark I where the BeoMusic app works on a iOS 10.2 ?

Reinstalling the app was one of the first things I tried, but that didn't solve it...

Looks like I just have to wait for a new update...

Contact beocare and ask if they have an update in their schedule to fix a mark 1 talking to iOS 10.2
